Aside from Labyrinth and The Lost Boys, shouts for:
The Lady Killers (Guiness, Sellers, Lom) The Last Boy Scout The Lake House Lost In Space Lethal Weapon Let Him Have It....
However, I have to go with The Living Daylights. Bond movies (for me anyway) had become a joke with Sir Rog's later movies not so much looking '00 Agent' as they were 'oh, for f**k's sake, not another one!'
Timothy Dalton never gets the credit he deserves for his contribution to the series, but I'm going to help put that right with my vote.
'Daylights' was a stonking kick up the arse for a series that was in danger of falling off the cliff and into oblivion.
People often credit Pierce Brosnan with saving Bond, not so in my opinion, Timothy Dalton did. Pierce brilliantly built on the solid foundation that Dalton left for him.
The Living Daylights gets my vote, and Timothy Dalton was a great 007, and was Daniel Craig's Bond before Daniel Craig even had an equity card!

4 on my short-list and, unsurprisingly given my limited movie knowledge, none mentioned so far. Altman's The Long Goodbye - Elliott Gould a fine Marlowe. Love and Death - Woody Allen's funniest film. Love & Mercy - Brian Wilson and Pets Sounds. Has to be on there. By a nose, my vote goes to Local Hero. Whimsy in the best Britisg tradition and a cracking soundtrack by Mark Knopfler.

What a brilliant movie, great shout, mate. Not your usual Bill Murray movie, but in my opinion it's one of his absolute best. The chemistry between Murray and Johansson is immense, the movie just works perfectly. However, does anyone have the slightest idea what Murray whispers to her at the end? If it wasn't for Bond, that would have seen me changing my vote.

My mentions for L are...
LA Story - Think Steve Martin is great in this film
Lawnmower Man - Don't think many people liked this but watched it when it came out, I was only about 13 years old and it sh*t me up at the time!!
Lightning Jack - Paul Hogan is so funny in this and Cuba Gooding Jr is hilarious as a mute, when he shoots himself in the foot and scream in pain (in silent) makes me cry with laughter every time.
Little Shop of Horrors
The Long Kiss Goodnight - Never really found Geena Davis that attractive until this film but also think its a great film.
The Last King of Scotland - Not my usual type of film but I did love this one.
Layer Cake
Licence to Kill
Life of Brian is one of my favourite films ever and is another timeless one that never gets boring but my winner this week is a film i've seen 100's of times and still laugh at it when it's repeated on TV today, especially when asked "What are you doing" he replies "I'm kicking my ar*e"!! haha. Liar Liar for me please.

At last the blue bear has gone, so I can post again!
Great list there, downy - similar to my own:
Leaving Las Vegas The Last Supper Leon Lost in Translation
But my vote goes to another one on downy's list: LA Confidential.

Yep - with you on that one, Eppers (and welcome back, by the way!).
L.A. Confidential was one of the best - if not the best - films of the '90s. A crying shame really (so far as awards were concerned) that it came out in the same year as the far inferior, and vastly over-rated, Titanic.

Excellent taste, macc! Yep, it's up there for me as one of the best films of the 90s and to never to get proper recognition. 50s film-noir with a hint of pulp fiction and an ending you don't see coming. Brilliant performances, wonderfully directed and so, so stylish. All this with a lead who used to be in Neighbours!
My blue bear problems was only this morning. I was away with work from last Sunday until late Friday (driving home from a hotel near Heathrow during evening rush hour - what joy!) hence my relative radio silence last week. Normal service is now resumed, I'm afraid...

big shouts to 'L.A. confidential', and a pair of murrays - 'lost in translation' and 'the life aquatic'. a bit of buscemi with 'living in oblivion' and terry gilliam's documentary of the disastrous making of his don quixote film, which never came out 'lost in la mancha'.
however, i'm going for something else gilliam was involved in. i hate people quoting films, but the whole sermon on the mount scene, the people's front of judea/judean people's front and so much else was the python team on fire, and of course i remember all the lines. i'm having to try quite hard not to just quote a load of them. this was the only time they were consistent across a film - realistically they were never remotely consistent for even the twenty odd minutes of the monty python show. life of brian is annoying in places, but it is also funny as f***.
