Noting that Chelsea sneaked a 1-0 win last night in the Europa thingy, reminded me of the visit 3 years ago to County by visitors from Chelsea. Here is a link from that visit taken from the `County History` section of the blog. There are loads of other items within that section, but I hope you find this one of interest.... hedgegrower.blogspot.com/2015/09/two-great-clubs-110-years-on.html

Help the Hatters Pre Match Update
Pre Match Saturday`s- Our Lady`s Social Club.
Following the demise of the Bung, Help the Hatters have been looking around for an alternative venue for a pre match get together for County fans. Our Lady`s on Flint Street, Shaw Heath was suggested , and after visiting same we came away with a very favourable impression indeed. The club is a cut above the Bung as far as facilities are concerned , and we are assured that County supporters will be made very welcome pre match . I addition, whilst there is no compulsion to join the club, County fans who join ( £5 per annum) will get cheaper beer, and take advantage of some decent special offers on bottled beer. We think this is a good option, at least until the future is clearer. Yes…. Help the Hatters will have to be circumspect particularly in the early weeks/ months ,in terms of fund raising inside the club which at least initially, will not be an option for us. But we think you will find Our Lady`s a good pre match spot in which to meet- we hope that you agree!

Another Delve Into County History With the First Round Proper of the FA Cup approaching and bringing with it the thought that there will be a new batch of County players , as a result of playing in that match, who will qualify for a SCAN certificate, I thought another delve into the `County History `section of the blog was in order. This time I have chosen the 1972-73 SCAN Reunion Event from 2015 which attracted wow reports at the time with most of the team able to return. Be sure to click on the video link towards the end of the article- there`s some classic County humour from the players in there- well worth 7 minutes of your time! hedgegrower.blogspot.com/2015/11/scan-197273-cup-heroes-reunion.html

SCFC Community Foundation - Sport in Memories - County's Social Wellbeing Group - Open Day on Wednesday 14 November (10.00am until 12.00pm) at County's Museum at Edgeley Park.
Stockport County`s highly valued and remarkably successful Community Foundation , having established their considerable credentials in the field of coaching youngsters within and without the Borough, are now looking to focus on adults and senior citizens, via a new programme they are launching called Sport in Memories, with an Open Day on Wednesday 14 November 2018.
The aim of "Sport in Memories" project is to increase social contact and support for people experiencing social isolation and loneliness. The Memories Group is very much a Social Wellbeing group offering a weekly drop in at the Stockport County Museum at Edgeley Park, giving people the opportunity to come along and meet and chat with friendly staff and volunteers. They will be able to socialise and reminisce about their present and past life, sporting experiences and memories too. They will be able to take advantage of stress-relieving activities such as gentle yoga and art therapy and make long-term lifestyle changes to improve their health and wellbeing.
The Open day next Wednesday 14 November will help to introduce, launch and shape this project to as many interested people as possible so if you are connected to an adult group that this excellent initiative might be of interest to please come along, you will be most welcome.
Further details meanwhile can be obtained via Matthew Bailey on 0161 286 8888 (option 3)
