RIP Bob Murray.
The news has just come in that County Legend Bob Murray has sadly died .
It is so sad to report the passing of another County hero, and Bob was just that.
Born in Inverurie in April 1932, Bob, known to all and sundry as `Bobby' debuted for County against Halifax Town on 22 September 1952.
A stylish wing half, Bob became an automatic choice for the then `Lilywhites'.
Remarkably, Bob went on to make an amazing 226 consecutive league and Cup games for County between 1954 and 1959- a truly amazing run , ending up with a total of 495 appearances in County white, scoring 32 goals along the way.
Bob was a true County Legend, and will be sadly missed.

Very, very sad news, Hedge.
I remember when Thorpey broke his appearance record and thought what a great achievement that was.
My thoughts are with his family, friends, former colleagues and anyone lucky enough to have seen him play for us.
RIP 'Bobby'.

Help the Hatters Re-affirm Support for the Players Fund !
At their business meeting last evening, Help the Hatters resolved unanimously to continue to support the Players Fund.
The Fund thus far stands at around £3k, which is the combination of the following:-
Regular Monthly Payments via standing order or paypal- a valued staple in the ongoing efforts to keep County afloat and the Manager supported.
Income via Pods inside Edgeley Park. Please support these with any change you might have making a hole in your pocket on match day.
Payments Direct to Treasurer Mike Hopper- whether it is the occasional donation , regular donation ,or the response to a major appeal, Mike is always ready to receive donations.
Income from the Bungalow on Match Day- this is another important income source as we draw useful contributions from.....
The 10% donation from takings over the bar at the Bung.
Sale of pies ( Fitzy confirms he has just doubled the order for the next match)
Football Cards
The above all help immensely, and Help the Hatters confirmed that the Bung remains central to their thinking going forward, and the intention to hold a clean up/ paint job session in the Bung was confirmed.
It was a massively busy meeting but , typically, Help the Hatters continued to support essential items to aid the Club .
Most notable amongst these were....
It was agreed to purchase a Mobile Defibrillator for the Academy .
Also agreed was the purchase of 18 sets of kit for the Academy.
Various items of equipment were needed by the team dealing with the upkeep of the pitch, we agreed to support these including a Line Marker to be used instead of the current one that has to be borrowed.
County Ball Boys, needed wet weather tops, and support of this was agreed also.
Lots of other stuff was discussed, including our continued efforts to support the County Museum, which continues to be central to our forward strategy, but the above is a sample of what went on.

Didn't Go to Tonights WoodStockport Fest at the Spinning Top? Then you missed out, as it was a belter, and massive thanks go to Mike at the ST for hosting and Phil Robinson who again did a top job as promoter raising a neat bit of dosh en route for the Guardian Account. It was on from 4.30 and when I arrived Dr Uke where in fine form and received an ace reception from a full house at the ST. Headliners Mutha Luvin Chimps topped a great line up with sets that had the place jumpin' mixing material from their excellent album `Life Love and Day Time TV' with their latest ` Unusual Suspects' and other stuff than went down a treat. Great stuff that...and its still going on....so nip on down to the ST ....THERE IS STILL TIME! And.....on Tuesday....the ST will relay the Imagine match commentary in the bar ,so why not pop in and listen along with other County fans! Image may contain: 1 person, on stage, playing a musical instrument and indoor Image may contain: 2 people, people on stage and people playing musical instruments
