On tonight’s Pure Sport: Our first chance to bring you Alan Lord’s reaction to defeat at Hednesford, plus Lordy looks ahead to tomorrow afternoon’s trip to Guiseley. Plus I’m delighted to say that County Chief Executive Ryan McKnight spoke to me at length last night. The topics discussed included the recent interest in the club from both Chinese business people and those based on the borough, the ‘Sea of Blue’ protest and the state of the Edgeley Park pitch. You can hear those exclusive interviews tonight from 7pm on Pure 107.8FM and online after 8pm at www.podcast.pureradio.org.uk

Plenty to conjur with there - and well worth a listen, by the sound of it.
Thanks, Pete!

Looking forward to hear what he has to say about the pitch. Surely he is the only man alive who thinks he made the right decision in sacking our groundsman.
"A man must be big enough to admit his mistakes, smart enough to profit from them, and strong enough to correct them."

"The club needs to wash its own face...."
..... and mow its own lawn, Ryan.
Looking forward to hearing yet more nonsensical waffle from him.

oh gosh....I don't know if I want to really hear what he has to say. Best put anything valuable away in case it gets thrown at the radio!

What McKnight had to say (excuse bullet points) Full coverage on Podcast:
On Investment/interest in club:
* Structurally ready for change and new investment Potential of a business - has been 'smartening it up for the last 12 months for a move for financial continuity. Heading in the right direction Something to invest in
* Looking for a long term financial stability - that is his latest responsibility.
* A number of parties to be considered * Share holders have final say
* A good deal will take time.

McKnight part 2
Austerity:
* This is a austerity that is forced and not an option
* The money invested already has covered losses
* Needed to cut costs as a business to go in right direction
* Understands the frustration from fans - is part of his job to accept the heat
* Trying to do the best to stabilize club
Pete asks about hindsight:-
* Happy with all decisions made so far
* Passionate about turning fortune around
* Looking at player recruitment with Alan Lord for the Summer. Not to make the same mistakes again. Players to fulfill expectations of club
* Recent squad are young and economic - bearing fruit
* Painful road for club but going in right direction
* Doesn't matter about quality of on the pitch because fans always come (!!?)
* Haven't got the budget for the care of pitch. Are looking into how to deal with this in the summer. So far the 'guys' he has confidence in with the efforts desperately trying to get games on.
* Drainage is an on-going problem at EP
* In Summer, will have the best pitch with the budget available

Great quote from a YB poster:
Re: Ryan keeps saying erm a lot

No problem with understanding any of the words he uses, it's when he arranges words into sentences that they stop meaning anything
