Next up, a case of 'Jim Present' against 'Jim Past' - as the Manager's former charges come a-visiting on Tuesday night in the Cheshire Senior Cup Semis.
Winners get to take on Chester or Tranmere - on a date, and at a venue, to be arranged.
Post all the usual stuff here...

A real chance of Silverware at stake here, Northwich going well in Evo-Stik Div 1 and finalist for the last 2 seasons, winning it in 2014, will be no pushovers at all, especially with Gannon's fringe-squad suggestion.
I would hope our higher level opponents would prepare us better for the win but I think this will be our toughest game in the Cup so far...whoever wins I think it'll be by 1 goal.

I expect to see 100% effort from these fringe players; after all they're all playing for a place in Jims team next year, so there can be no excuses...it will be close but I'm going with 2-1 County.
Its so strange being in the Moan stand instead of the CE, but the view is decent.....

Sounds like Jim's faith in Ian is being fully justified so far.
2-0 at half time, great stuff!

There's something inspiring about Edgeley Park floodlit on a cold evening. Stranger even with an empty CE...and its not even a case of who's sitting in my seat..... great result tonight. And good to see Howard, King and Duxberry were outshadowed by the County team. And another top penalty save from Ormson...didnt see the second penalty save/miss tho'.

just had a look on twitter. ormson conceded the first penalty, and then saved it! no problem at all if he immediately puts any errors right. well done ian!
the second pen was apparently fired over the bar. good to see big kay (as well as marsden and o'hanlon) getting on the scoresheet again. can he get the half dozen before the end of the season?
517 there, which would be a respectable league gate for many of the clubs in this division...

I went to, and thoroughly enjoyed, last nights game!
I went into it with a little trepidation as I feared that Jimbo had assembled a better team in Northwich than Mr. Young had assembled in Stockport! Not that my fears were in any way founded...Vics did have the first attack of the game but after that it was one way traffic for the first 20 minutes or so...just after Ian had gotten away with a bit of a sliced clearance Northwich themselves had a horrendous cock-up as Lewis King was miles out of position and when County picked up a stray ball the task fell to Marsden to slot the ball home into an empty Railway End net.
Around 5 or so minutes later it was another goal for Big Kay, I've sang his praises all season and I'm certainly being rewarded now...this was the highlight of his second consecutive start and the third consecutive game in which he has made (and in 2 games scored) some really good chances. After the 2-0 goal, County still attacked the Northwich goal but after around 30 minutes, the Vics started to grow into the game a little more and had a couple of half decent chances but Ormson was quick to respond to all of them...that is until a few minutes before half time when he just lost out in a footrace to the ball to the Vics player and took him out without getting the ball but nothing to worry about when Ian concedes a penalty as he duly saved Iain Howard's penalty and redeemed himself in the process. Though he was very lucky to escape without so much as a yellow card!
After HT Northwich came out with the bit between their teeth and whilst County did have their chances, Northwich probably had more, none of them especially good, in a dull second half until around 5 minutes from time County got a corner which Sean O'Hanlon nodded home to put the game out of sight and book County's place in the final...that wasn't it for drama though as Northwich won another penalty around the 90 minute mark, this one however looked much softer than the first and harsh on the County player (I think it was Morton) who appeared to have just out-muscled the Vics attacker...either way it made not a bit of difference as this time Ian didn't even have to do anything as the penalty taker chipped it right over the bar!
Despite County having a couple of penalty scares, they were very good value for the win! Ian Ormson seems to have really come into his own in recent weeks as does Odejayi...no bad performers in the team again, though this time Menagh actually did look okay!
Plastic Scousers or Plastic Taffs in the final...either way, COME ON COUNTY!

a rare moment ! i was there at ep to see the 3-0 win ! i didnt think we were under any real threat for at least 70% of the game so thats an improvement. thought big k playing out of position was a good effort. best goal by o'hanlon plaudits to morton and ormson !
