Thought I'd start this thread for the South Africa series now, as I just want to say, what an absolutely phenomenal innings from Jos Buttler today!

Yep, I don't think he's finished completely, but will be interesting to see if he can play himself back into contention. After Buttler's heroics it looks like he's played himself back into form in some style, so despite Bairstow doing nothing wrong, Jos might get the gloves back for SA.
If he does, I'd still be inclined to play Bairstow though.
Cook, Hales, Taylor, Root, Bairstow, Stokes, Buttler, Ali, Broad, Plunkett/Jordan/Footitt, Anderson with maybe a few tweaks in the order between 6-7-8, depending on the respective form of Stokes, Buttler and Ali would be my team for the first test.

I think we will see how determined Bell is now in wanting to get back in to the test squad, I think it will do him good and hopefully he will be able to play himself back in to the team.

What a morning session. 196 runs without loss. Ben Stokes scoring well over 100 and the run rate for the session was around 8 an over

Witnessing history here - can't have been many better knocks when you're trying to put the opposition to the sword. His hitting this morning was brutal, and hopefully it'll continue for a few hours this afternoon!
