Welcome back to SK3 for the second time in three days, following a good team performance against Cambridge, and for our first local derby of the season. Hopefully, with the match being played under the Edgeley Park lights, and with a good-sized crowd in prospect, the stage is set for a cracking contest against our near-neighbours from the ‘Silk Town’ - or ‘Treacle Town’, as some residents prefer! Macc, with an almost completely new playing squad (which, as of Transfer Deadline Day, includes ex-Hatter, Amari Morgan-Smith), have got off to a tremendous start this term - and will also be keen to bounce back after their defeat at Luton on Saturday.
Being a County fan based in Macc has not been the easiest cross to bear during recent years. In particular - and as you can imagine - I still tend to attract playful reminders from Maxonians of our getting hit for six at the Moss Rose that Boxing Day seven Christmases ago, and for four at EP in the season that ultimately saw County lose League status. Let us hope that it is our Boys in Blue who gain the three points tonight - and, on a selfish note, that I get to take home some local bragging rights...at least until we meet again at Easter!
And, speaking of which, here’s Sandy with notice of an invitation to supporters, both home and away...

Evening. If you’ve been on CH recently, you may have spotted that I am organising a sponsored walk on Easter Saturday 2013. For some time we have had a member representing KidsCan, a local children’s cancer charity. When I looked at their website, it became apparent what excellent work they are doing. Childhood cancer is something that has recently affected my wife’s family, and, since charities like KidsCan always need funds to help find new treatments, I decided it was time we helped out.
So, on 30th March, I am trying to persuade as many people as possible to walk with me from EP to Moss Rose for our game against Macc. It’s thirteen miles which, although a challenge, is still achievable and we’d like to try and raise as much money as possible.
I know Easter is a long way off, but I wanted to mention the walk in this article so that any fans of the Silkmen who fancy joining us can get in touch. If you would be interested in taking part, please contact me at sandbachhatter@hotmail.co.uk or via County Heaven.

I was a bit too quick off the mark bidding Cameron Darkwah a fond farewell from CH in Saturday's programme! Not only did he confirm that he would be staying at the club after we had gone to press, but he also went on to produce a Man of the Match performance against Cambridge. So...welcome back, 'Cam'!
