Had thought, with seconds to go in tonight's match, that I would be posting this triumphantly.
As things have turned out, it now appears with a tinge of disappointment - BUT:
(1) we're still well up at the business-end of the table;
(2) leapfrogging the leaders is in our own hands, when we visit them, on Saturday; and
(3) it makes a welcome change not to lose to North Ferriby at home...
Sandy and I were blissfully unaware, on writing it, that this evening's article would be County Heaven's four-year anniversary-piece - but happy reading, just the same!

Good evening from Edgeley Park - which, so far as scheduled home League fixtures are concerned, is something you will hear us say on only two occasions this season. (And, with Solihull not visiting by night until late November, there is rather a good old wait until the second one!)
County’s performances to date will be referenced with some pleasure elsewhere in this fine publication. And, while printing deadlines mean that we cannot comment on the match at Telford just yet, two victories from two tough opening fixtures are enough just to see us feeling a teeny bit chuffed.
Not that us Hatters shall be getting carried away at this stage, of course. Even though, in the eyes of many on Planet Football, we probably ought to have been some years ago...
Back to tonight, though - and a warm welcome to North Ferriby. It is, when it comes to The Villagers, fair (see what I did there?) to say that they enjoy their trips across to EP. After winning here by the odd goal in three on a drab, late-autumnal afternoon during 2013, they inflicted a single-goal defeat upon us in last season’s opener.
Fingers crossed, it will be third time lucky for County, and playing later in the day will seal our visitors’... erm, fête.
So, before moving on from Humberside... Sandy - how the Hull are you?

Hullo, Tiger! I’m good, thanks - and even better for seeing the hullowed turf of EP once more. (Ok, we struggled for puns this week, but YOU try and come up with something funnier from ‘North Ferriby’.)
After a promising start to the season, everyone at CHHQ is in relatively good spirits - but, in the event of any disappointing results over the remainder of the campaign, we have all manner of stress-relieving distractions to soothe your frayed nerves. Aside from the various games on offer, which include our very own arcade section, the jokes thread is always guaranteed to raise a smile and provide you with comedic ammunition for your next trip to the pub.
Speaking of ammunition, if that still doesn’t cheer you up, Gazza has now added an ‘anger bar’ to the forum, which enables disgruntled Heaveners to arm themselves with all sorts of amusing weaponry, and vent their frustration without actually hurting anyone (or themselves). The arsenal on offer includes a hammer, flame-thrower, paintball-gun, and even a pumpkin (?), with which to inflict (virtual) damage on your screen, as well as a full-on nuclear strike for those really disappointing results or refereeing decisions. Hopefully, we won’t need it this season - but it’s nice to know it’s there just in case. Head on over to www.countyheaven.com to check it out, and sign up.
Enjoy the match, folks.
