What with Liam Bridcutt's own-goal contribution to the Southampton landslide, and Damien Delaney's red card, yesterday afternoon wasn't the best of times for former County loan-players now in the Prem.

Greg McTansey scored again for Inverness. Not a screamer this time, just a pen that secured the points for his side.

Back to the bread-and-butter stuff of yesterday...
Joe Connor scored the only goal of the game, and in the last minute, for Southport.
Oli Johnson, with four minutes left on the clock, equalised for Guiseley in their 4-4 thriller at North Ferriby. Danny M Rowe and Sam Sheridan, for Fylde and Barrow, respectively, scored the first goals in their sides' victories.

Matt Paterson, now plying his trade for Gosport Borough, was among the FA Cup scorers on Saturday - helping the Conference South side through to the First Round Proper for the first time ever.
Also on target in the Cup: Connor Jennings (for Wrexham, against another of his former clubs, Macc.); and Sean Newton, with a penalty (for Lincoln).

Good luck to Matty M.
Always liked him while he was with us. Such a shame that injury held him back.
And, at Stalybridge earlier this season, he was the only ex-Hatter in the home side who didn't appear hell-bent on wreaking some strange kind of vengeance...

Always seemed to be a decent lad.
Never the same player after that horrendous leg break.
Hope his new career, whatever that may be, is a success.

Matty mainwaring retires @matty_Main: Sad to make the decision to retire from professional football today, but ecstatic to start chasing my real dream!! #WatchThisSpace Sad that, as Rog said he always seemed a decent lad when he was with us, and I will never forget that Grimsby friendly. Shocking tackle that pretty much ruined what should have been a very bright career. He showed glimpses of his obvious talent, but as Rog also says he wasn't quite the same when he came back. A real shame, especially when sh*t houses like Social Loafer still have a career, there's no justice. Good luck, Matty!

yeah, best of luck to him. like i've said many times, i saw him dominate the first half of a pre-season friendly once like gerrard in his pomp. absolutely everywhere, and everything was class. also always seemed like a class act as a bloke.
