Having played a set of Stopfordian Nomads last night, County will now turn thoughts to tomorrow's visit by some Welsh ones.
I... erm, wander how we shall get on against them?
Over to you!

Do Welsh Nomads go ram-bling ?
Or does nobody give a flock ?
If we put up the prices at the turnstile would we be accused of fleecing them ?

Good goal from Baggie, Thorniley, Duxberry & Baggie played well, Rule got MOM. Very little creativity and their midfield ran the show. Too many short passes out from Hurst which put the defence under pressure as well. I am guessing the players are tired & I am not sure what level Connors Quay are and yes maybe we didnt play the first 11, but we should do better. I know it was a friendly, yes we won, but it was a frustrating afternoon to be honest.

i went to the first three, and then today, and feel like i missed the good performances having heard the reports of the macc and utd u21s games. wasn't the greatest game, but i do feel like we'll properly compete with whoever we come up against in the league this season. that in itself is a great start, having seen us fail to do so loads of times over the last four or five years.
positives were joe garvin's set pieces - we should have scored at least one from his corners, with two six yard box headers powered over. the centre half pairing looked great, and i hadn't seen either of them before. they both have the confidence under pressure to play it between themselves or pick another pass without panic. thorniley set up the goal with an imperious run from about half way to the edge of the box, and baggie showed yet again that he might have the goals in him that the forwards have been shy of so far.
thought gonzales worked hard, was positive, and played really well. i liked his frustration when glenn rule pretty much tackled him as he was about to break away. ellison looked a fairly capable deputy (?) at right back. scott duxbury is good enough if roberts isn't available, and i hope he might flourish with all this experience around him. lewis montrose worked really hard and was physically strong and committed in the middle.
down our end, we were also treated to a spectacular waterfall from the main stand roof as it started properly chucking it down during the game. standing under it would be like the timotei advert, only with added flakes of asbestos.

Good report ars!
Didn't make it yesterday but an encouraging win over a League of Wales side. Compared to last years limp 2-0 defeat at home to Airbus!
From the highlights it looked as though we were the much better side!
