Reigning champ, Scott Waites 2-0 down to Alan Norris in a first to three first round match, what an upset this would be in the opening match of the tournament!

I still watch it as I like Darts, but I have to say that you're not too far of the mark there, Rog. Every year I tune in, and there's some cracking matches among the utter dross, but they seem few and far between. It really is like Butlins watching it, but I don't miss the PDC morons in the crowd.
What I do find interesting is the conversation that's going on in the background with the mikes still left on while the Red button coverage is having a break. They are obviously sat away from the mikes but you can hear the commentary team discussing someone bringing the game into disrepute, but I can't quite hear what's being said.
The BBC really is rank amateur, and the BDO is even worse.

Further to my point, I'll give the BDO another 5 years max before it's dissolved into the PDC somehow. Not even the likes of Jim Proudfoot can make it sound any more exciting for the viewer.
It's Darts, Jim, but not as we know it!

I agree with the crowds mate, at the BDO they seen respectful and enthusiastic not the brain dead anti-English morons you see at certain legs of the PDC tour!

Good grief, after Robbie Green beat Ritchie George 3-0. the caption during Green's post-match interview read: "averaged 107.76 in his first 9 darts" How desperate are the BBC/BDO with b*ll*cks like that? I could probably fluke that over the first 9 darts at some point if I spent some quality time on a board for a few days. Try averaging that during all three sets, f*****g amateurs!

The BDO has a place in the world of Darts, but its days at the top of the tree are long gone. It's a great breeding ground for players, but unless you've mixed it with big boys in the the PDC you'll always be classed as a paper champion.
Exhibit 'A', m'lud: Martin Adams.
