... will be published as soon as we regain internet connection at work.
Well, I'm sure as hell not typing it all out on my phone.

You haven't had long to wait, as we're back up and running!
Right then, let's get rid of Quiz 72, as I think we'll all be glad to see the back of it...
First up, we had Gazza, Downy and Archie competing for Week 1 - The Premier League. All 3 correctly guessed it was Burnley's Turf Moor ground on the first day, and scored 5 points for their respective teams.
Next we had Lennie, Benno and Eppy guessing at League 1, and they all also scored 5 points by correctly spotting Barnsley's Oakwell.
In Week 3 it was the turn of League 2, and Shrewsbury's Greenhous Meadow was identified by Market Harborough, Dudders and Fudgie on erm... Monday. Yep, 5 points again, making it 15 points for each team and a tie going into the final week.
But wait! Could one team break away in the final week when guessing Macc Town's Moss Rose?....

Erm, no.
Maccy (no surprise there), jamesgill and NLR all got the full 5 points again, meaning that all teams finished on 20 points and no one dropped a single point throughout the entire quiz.
Hence why I've revealed individual scores, when I said at the start I wouldn't.
So, it's all on the tie-break decider...

It was somewhat fascinating for me to see the thought processes that go into my quiz links, but it really wasn't as complicated as some people suspected.
TURF Moor, OAKwell, GREENHOUS Meadow and MOSS ROSE, are all things you can find in a garden.
Easy really.
What I can reveal, is that by the start of Week 4, no team had the link, so it's going to be close!
In third place, we have....

...The Pop Siders (Downy, Dudders, Benno and Jamesgill), who didn't manage the link and finish on 20 points.
Now, between the other two teams, there is just one point in it.
Our winners are....

THE MAINSTANDERS!!!
Yes, Gazza, Market Harbrough, Maccy and Lennie got the link on Monday of this week to score 5 points (and 25 overall), just one day ahead of The Cheadle Enders (Fudgie, NLR, Eppy and Archie) who take silver with 24 points.
A closely fought competition lads, and I do appreciate you playing.
Not my finest quiz, but I like to try new things/formats out sometimes to keep it fresh, and perhaps this one needs some tweaking if we do it again.
Hopefully I'll still see you all on Monday for Quiz 73, when you'll be back playing with yourselves.
So to speak.
Ta.

Great format Sandy - really enjoyed it - oh but what a palava about trying to find the link, we were very close on the first Monday but then went round and round the houses - I'll happily take part in that style of quiz again.
But can we have a simpler link please?

Blimey, how close was that?!
I really have been very fortunate to have been in such a great team, it really was a pleasure.
Great team, great quiz, and a great win.
Well played by all teams, a closely fought contest indeed.
Thanks very much as always, Sandy.

But can we have a simpler link please? Believe me, I could produce a list of all the random and obscure quiz links that were discussed within the teams, and I feel sure everyone would accept 'things in a garden' is very straight-forward in comparison!
Thanks for the kind words everyone!

Oh, all brave and cocky from the other side of the world, ain't ya?! Why don't you come over here and say that?!
(I am, of course, a complete coward and useless in a fight, but I figure I'd at least have a 48 hour notice period in which to scarper....)

Whoop, whoop. Just spilt the flask of coffee and dropped the tartan blanket.
We hit the post, bar and saw the ball bounce along the line on day 1 but couldn't put the follow up in the net !! Frustrating.
A pleasure to be in the Main Stand Team, what a bunch of pure gentlemen. Gladly no one let their side down with a miss on the ground spotting. well done all.
Great entertainment Sandy, keep 'em coming, you little tinker.

Well done MSers. I think the crossbar almost split with number of times that it was hit by everyone.
Thanks for the fun, Sandy. The team concept is good but challenging as, with everyone's life having a different pattern and different priorities, a quick chat can take several hours. Nevertheless, good to do for a change and well done to everyone for entering into the spirit of the thing, especially the gratuitous insults for Sandy while he was stalking our discussions.
