They are putting everything into the rollout of the vaccines, which will be there main redeeming feature along with the furlough payments. I will even go so far as to predict they will win the election as too many people are forgiving of Johnson etc. and I don't know how many times I have heard people making excuses for this govt. 'after all he is only human and no one could have predicted this pandemic'... Brexit completed, the Oxford Uni/AZ vaccine, make GB great again.
Oh, and not forgetting the Tory press who are guilty of shielding the govt from a lot of their misdemeanours.
It's all enough to make you emigrate to a small desert island in the middle of the ocean, far, far away.

And it doesn't seem to matter how many times Johnson makes the same mistakes www.theguardian.com/education/2021/feb/19/whitty-at-odds-with-johnson-over-big-bang-reopening-of-schools-in-englandOr how corrupt the Tories are www.theguardian.com/society/2021/feb/19/matt-hancock-acted-unlawfully-failing-publish-covid-contracts-high-courtTheir base will always find a justification for the way they vote, even when it's become so blatantly obvious that by voting for the Tories they are voting against their own interests one feels embarrassed talking to them about things they seem incapable of seeing for themselves.

This country is more or less on a war footing against an invisible enemy, and what these crooked bastards are doing is on a par with looting during wartime, but the difference is they used to shoot looters back then.
Hancock and the rest of his cronies should be in jail for this.

This country is more or less on a war footing against an invisible enemy, and what these crooked bastards are doing is on a par with looting during wartime, but the difference is they used to shoot looters back then. Hancock and the rest of his cronies should be in jail for this. The Tories like conjuring visions of war War means enemies and the Tories need enemies, lots of them. Choose any one from the following list: - The "Woke". Not quite sure why concern at social inequality is such a problem but hey ho! The "Politically Correct". Again, not sure why a desire not to cause offence would be an issue but then I'm not a Tory. The unemployed. Not sure why the Tories are so down on the unemployed since market forces by definition require unemployment (Thatcher's policies were estimated to require about a million unemployed) as large numbers applying for the same job drives wages down. The sick and disabled. By some kind of warped right-wing ideology "benefit scroungers" of any stripe are a legitimate target, despite the fact that there but for the grace of God go I. Muslims. Baroness Warsi has described being a Muslim member of the Tory Party as like being in an abusive relationship. Johnson quietly canned the investigation into anti-Muslim racism amongst the Tory Party instigated by May. Yep. the same Johnson who was on his hind legs about Labour anti-semitism. Rank hypocrisy has never been an issue for Tories. Foreigners. The basis of a large part of their Brexit campaign. Single mothers. A bit rich for a party led by a serial adulterer. See above reference hypocrisy. "Do-gooders". Not sure why doing good is seen as something to mock but then Mrs May did once describe her Party as the nasty Party. She has a point imo.

"Either way, great to see a prime minister who could barely wake up without shutting a community library finally want to build something. Unfortunately, it’s the Whitehall Halfway House for Former Prime Ministers Who Can’t Read Good."Brilliant!

Utterly shameful. Nothing to add to Keir Starmer's response:
"For Boris Johnson to laugh when talking about the closure of the coal mines is a slap in the face for communities still suffering from the devastating effects of Margaret Thatcher's callous actions."
