It will be interesting to see the results of the may local elections. Anyone else think that Johnson models himself on Trump? I saw a forecast earlier that suggests the loss of 800 council seats and some 8 councils. This was in the Mail however, a paper whose own acquaintance with the truth is "fluid", to say the least of it. They also suggest that the Tories could also gain some and therein lies the problem. Given the nature of first past the post they will never require a majority, merely sufficient numbers of the type of people interviewed in this clip An almost feudal bout of cap doffing deference to money and privilege. I for one find it profoundly depressing that there are so many people so utterly bereft of wit and imagination, who so very clearly know their place in the pecking order and who will never be able to see that they are being taken for a bunch of mug punters by a party hell bent on destroying so much that such people probably claim to cherish about this country. F***ing staggering, and although there are only a few people being repeatedly asked questions in that video, it's still mind-blowing that they can be so naive. I'm not holding my breath, but let's wait and see what happens in May.

As soon as "The Criminal" stated that Government hadn't been involved it signalled that, of course, they had. Up to their grubby little armpits in the mire. Expect a certain "windfall tax" and help for million with energy bills to be announced today to deflect the public and press from the on going "partygate" fall out.

And, since they've blagged the idea from the Labour Party, hopefully Starmer and Co will be able to take advantage.

My girlfriend asks me not to read about British politics as I end up swearing. However, Mr Johnson changing the ministerial code so that ministers who lie to parliament don’t have to resign has tipped me over the edge. This is what fascism looks like. Break the rules carry on anyway. Some one complains…change the rules. Swear swear swear swear swear. Right I’m off to the beach!

Break the rules carry on anyway. Some one complains…change the rules. Swear swear swear swear swear. Right I’m off to the beach! There's really nothing to see here mate, no, really! It's reported that nobody took any notice of the ministerial code anyway.......in the Daily Express......so it must be right. On a brighter note YouGov are predicting the Tories to get walloped at the next election and there is a fighting chance that Johnson may chalk up another Prime Ministerial first. Following on from his becoming the first serving PM to be convicted of breaking the law there is a very good chance that he could also become the first sitting PM to lose his seat at an election. I noticed that at least one member of the cabinet has already come out in defence of Johnson from accusations that he attempted to lean on Sue Gray to amend her report prior to its being published so, given the propensity these f**kwits have for debasing themselves in defence of the indefensible it seems a safe bet to assume that Johnson is also guilty on that score too. For reasons I can't quite put my finger on, thoughts of Johnson always makes this spring to mind It does raise the question of how Johnson will be got rid of. That the possibility that this corrupt and dishonest PM is now an electoral liability seems to be dawning on even the densest Tory MP and that sticking with him is the surest way of ensuring their P45 at the next election but does anyone see this narcissistic clown going quietly? I wouldn't be surprised if he calls a snap election but even if he doesn't, where do the Tories go from here, even if they do get shut of him? Every single member of the cabinet is tarred with the same brush. Everyone of them has at some point defended him and have lied on his behalf, they were all responsible for overseeing the incompetent handling of the Covid crisis and are collectively responsible for overseeing the corrupt handling of contracts for PPE, etc. Interesting times for some of, injurious to the health and well-being of a significant number of our fellows who can't afford a Government ideologically opposed to helping them out during one of the worst economic and cost of living crises in my lifetime, a party, some of whose members believe that the reason you can't feed yourself and your family is because you can't cook! Bastards!

So, here we are again. Those fine upstanding members of the Tory Party, average member 57 years of age, white, male, largely wealthy who inhabit the Shire Counties taking it upon themselves as the sole defenders of parliamentary sovereignty and national democracy you understand, to elect the next Prime Minister.
How many more times will the electorate allow themselves to be hoodwinked this shower of charlatans before it dawns on them that the Tories have bugger all to offer this country beyond accelerated decline and widening division? First, Cameron was the man to sort the country out until he wasn't. A man who so spectacularly f***ed up the non-binding advisory only referendum on EU membership the only reason that he can still appear in public is because he is so utterly bereft of shame.
And just when you thought the Tories had plumbed the depths, they chose May, Lest we forget, May was the individual responsible for the hostile environment so beloved of your average racist who so spectacularly f***ed up the withdrawal process, a process with no legal validity whatsoever, she was kicked out of office by a real bottom feeder.
Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson is a serial adulterer, demonstrable liar, waster of vast amounts of public money whilst Mayor of London, who had been caught trying to arrange the assault of a journalist that had offended him. A man whose inability to master his brief led him to be the cause of an innocent British national having her sentence increased by the Iranian Government, and a man so demonstrably unfit to clean this country's humblest sh*t-house never mind be its leading politician and who was, it's now clear unable to even understand the withdrawal protocol he signed with the EU.
Gotta love the Tories, and don't they have a huge choice of intellectual giants from which to choose? Raab, a man who hadn't realised that the port of Dover played such an important role in this country's trade. Graham Brady, sorry! Who the f*** is Graham Brady? Sunak, a man who couldn't use a f***ing credit card at his local petrol station. Truss, ahahahahahahahaha. Javid, a man who made his wealth selling the very financial products that led directly to the 2008 financial crash. Hunt, the man who presided over the decline of the health service to the point where it damn-near collapsed under the weight of the covid pandemic and was so short of critical kit, this country spent multi-millions of pounds over the odds trying to make up the shortfall. Or how about the the Secretary of State for Education? Rumour has it that anyone wanting to get on in Johnson's party would need to be so far up Johnson's arsehole he can see the soles of Nadhim Zahawi's feet!
Still, not to worry. It seems that there are still enough people who would vote for a turd if it wore a blue rosette and, given the above list, there seem to be plenty to choose from.

I don't suppose he will do the honourable thing before the vote and fall on his sword, will he ?
Had to laugh this morning when one defector tried to imply that it was events over the weekend that brought everything to a head ie the booing outside St Paul's Cathedral !!! He was then asked why they ever thought that he was the man for the job when May was deposed and he couldn't answer the question given the charlatan's long list of previous errors of judgement (see Exile's exhaustive list above) and add all the "journalistic" b*ll*cks he has written about gays, ethnic minorities and the such like.
A life of entitlement has led to this. They knew what they were voting in and now they seem surprised that they are expected to vote him out ! Sums up their political nous and their own private ambitions.
Exlie, you missed out Gove (!), Patel (!!) and dear Nadine (!!!!!!!!!!!) in your list of possible replacements. Prime Minister's question time will be worth it's weight in popcorn on Wednesday (if it goes ahead).

Prime Minister's question time will be worth it's weight in popcorn on Wednesday (if it goes ahead). It was intentional, Dorries is too thick and Patel too nasty for even a Tory to contemplate as leader and, judging from his most recent appearance in the media, Gove too spaced out on poppy seeds. You're right, it is very amusing listening to all these Tory MP's who thought Johnson as PM would be a jolly wheeze frantically scrambling to cover their arses now that it turns out that the bastard is probably more deserving of a stretch than re-election. Apparently, what finally turned some of them against Johnson was the spectacle of some of the worshippers of the cult of hereditary wealth and privilege booing him over the weekend.

And just to demonstrate the degree to which Tory supporters will make excuses for this apology for a leader, a poll carried out today suggests that 66% of them think that Johnson is doing such a good job, he should be allowed to continue in office by the Party's MP's! One wonders whether they are living in some kind of alternative reality and then the terminally stupid Therese Coffey comes out with this,
"I'm voting for the Prime Minister today & call upon my colleagues to do so too. PM has got the big calls right - Covid, Ukraine, jobs, levelling up mission, cost of living help & he got Brexit done".
Where to start with this? The big calls right, mmm, delaying lockdown by a week in order that the Cheltenham Festival could go ahead, a decision thought to have cost some 30000+ infections! Even the gormless Dorries has admitted that the covid response was inadequate.
Ukraine, do spare me the bullshit Coffey. The only reason Johnson has pursued the policy he has is because even that charlatan knows when he needs to distract attention away from domestic policy. Please also note that there has as yet been no indication as to who is stumping up the bill for the arms supplied, and this from a Government that withdrew the £20 extra benefits paid during covid to the neediest in society whilst at the same time coming up with a £200 loan as help with the cost of spiralling energy prices.
Levelling up mission? What f***ing levelling up mission you mealy mouthed gobshite? Please, someone, anyone identify what this clueless immoral bunch of tossers have done to level anything up beyond assisting some of their mates join the ranks of the fantastically wealthy with corrupt contracts for (frequently) useless PPE.
Getting Brexit done? She clearly isn't listening to the repellent Rees-Mogg who only this morning stated that if the Tories got rid of Johnson Brexit would never get done. So yes, they live in an alternative universe where everything wrong is in fact right, where its right that if you scratch my back I'll fill your pockets with lucre, where knighthoods and/or plum jobs can be given to donors as long as the donation is big enough, where breaking the law is ok, where the Police can turn a blind eye, espacially if the brother of a cabinet minister is the second most senior Met Officer in the department that decided not to prosecute Johnson further.

The Labour Party should be pissing itself laughing. 40% of Tory MP's voted against the bent bastard or, more pertinently, according to Rory Stewart,
Remove the “payroll” vote - and look at the free vote from backbenchers. Almost 75% of all Tory MPs not dependent on his patronage voted against him. This is the end for Boris Johnson. The only question is how long the agony is prolonged".
In other words, the overwhelming majority of "independent" Tory MP's voted against the clown. The agony to which Stewart refers is of course only going to be felt by increasing numbers of the population of this country who can't make ends meet and, for anyone assuming that doesn't include them because "I'm alright Jack", you're a redundancy away from joining them.
How absolutely fantastic. Having damaged the country's economy, jeopardised peace in Northern Ireland, the union, etc, for nothing beyond his own vanity, he is now proposing to tank his own party to further his own worthless political career.
