Can anyone recommend any good books that covers the clubs fortunes and the players that played for Stockport County in the 1990s?

Dave Espley's book covers that 96/97 season, and I'm sure Phil B can recommend one or two others.

dave jones' is 'on the edge', then there was dave espley's 'saturday night and thursday morning' which he did a new run of about a year ago, then there's 'vintage port' - all concentrating on '96-'97. i've got 'em all and i'm sure a lot of other county fans will too. i'm keeping mine but you might be able to persuade somebody else.

I used to have 'On the edge', and my kids' Mum got her Auntie to get it signed for me (she used to drink with Toddy and Dindo), and it was signed by most if not all of 96/97 squad. Prized possession, until some complete sticky-fingered get stole it from my desk at work. Serves me right for keeping it in there I suppose, but you don't expect someone you've worked with for years to steal your stuff. I never found out where it went, but it will have been someone I know well, as our office was always locked out of hours, and only a key holder will have been able to get in. I do hope it spontaneously combusted and took the thieving b******'s house with it! Not many things in the world worse than a dirty, stinking thief, scummy b******s.

It was back home, mate. It went missing in the late 90s when I was working in Hazel Grove.

Dave Espley is going to have an e-book version of 'Saturday Night and Thursday Morning' available for free on Amazon for Kindle readers just after Christmas.
