This flaming head cold that I can't get rid of !!! It just sounded like one of your "call to arms" given when you are judge. I really should read the posters name first.

To be fair, Lennie, have you ever seen gazza and me in the same room at the same time...?

True to my word, here I am... at just gone one!
Many thanks, as ever, to everyone who took part. Some cracking entries by all.
There were, in particular, some clever cultural references - and three of these make up the podium this time around:
In third place, Downy, with a perfectly-scanning 'Kick their a**e, a la Jean-Claude Van Damme.'. Posteriors very much the order of the day from Our Man in Perth... I have to say, however, that I winced at the line about 'a rectal exam'. Eeewww!
Taking the Silver Medal, Archie, for his exhortation to '... reduce them to rubble (like Bamm-Bamm).'. 'Betty' thought long and hard before coming up with that one, eh? Arf!
And, quite seamlessly, that leads us to our winner...
Congratulations, Ceefer, for cleverly linking up with the second line to reference Ram Jam's take on an old classic, with 'Singing "Whoa, Black Betty, Bam-ba-Lam".'.
And, with that, it's back to Sir Len in the studio...

Thanking you kind Sir for doing the honours. A very competitive week with some excellent entries. Thanks to all for entering (again) and keeping and old man very happy in the thought that some people still care enough to take part. I am still struggling with a head cold so will give the Lowestoft a couple of days thought before posting so you can all relax. Quality finish from Ceefer and not a link I was thinking of at the time. Jammy git !! Ta, a lot

Perfect judgement, Maccy. Well done to Downy and Archie on your podiums, but ceefer really did nail it deservedly with that brilliant line. Congrats, mate! Thanks as always to Lennie!

Taking the Silver Medal, Archie, for his exhortation to '... reduce them to rubble (like Bamm-Bamm).'. 'Betty' thought long and hard before coming up with that one, eh? Arf! Just trying to avoid a Barney, eh Macc? Thanks for the silver and well done to Downy and, especially, Ceefer. You'd have to have a heart of (Flint)stone to deny him the prize this week. Cheers as ever to Lennie.

Thanks Macca, some quality entries again this week. Cheers Macca, congrats to Archie and Downy and all who entered. Thanks also to Len.
The Ram Jam song has a story to it. As a teenager I rode a black motorcycle and a friend on the next street wanted to record me riding the noisy bike past his house and add a commentary. The sound track chosen for this recording was this song and as I passed his house at full throttle the exhaust pipe fell off and rolled along the road. With no baffle the noise was amazing but the car following behind was unable to avoid the exhaust pipe and ran over the end of it. Being a resourceful lad I retrieved it and managed to prise the pipe open so it could be used again.
