Jack Hobbs Herbert Sutcliffe (a great pair) Don Bradman (obviously) Viv Richards (although he would like to be number 3) Alan Border (and like Viv, could turn his arm over) Gary Sobers (as if the opponents had not had enough!) Shane Warne Bob Taylor (the best keeper I've seen, the Bradman of keepers for me) Dennis Lillee Michael Holding Syd Barnes (what a record!)
A long tail, but I don't think they will get down that far!

First impressions, great side. However, I'd have Steve Waugh in place of Border and he'd also be my captain. I'd have Wasim Akram in place of Barnes.

Could also make a case for Imran! I totally agree with Steve Waugh, Rog, there aren't many better than him.

It's a difficult one this - so many greats
1. Geoffrey Boycott 2. Sunil Gavaskar 3. Viv Richards (c) 4. Alan Border 5. Gary Sobers 6. Farokh Engineer (Wk) 7. Ian Botham 8. Wasim Akram 9. Joel Garner 10. Jeff Thompson 11. Shane Warne 12th man. Ian Chappell
To be honest with a bowling line up like that - you would not need too many batsmen as the bowlers should do the trick for you and not leave you chasing many.

Here's my list. I've cheated a bit and limited it to players in my era, so from the mid 80's onwards.
1. Matthew Hayden 2. Virender Sehwag 3. Brian Lara 4. Sachin Tendulkar 5. Steve Waugh (c) 6. Adam Gilchrist (w) 7. Jacques Kallis 8. Shane Warne 9. Dale Steyn 10. Curly Ambrose 11. Glenn McGrath
12. Allan Donald
Sadly, no place for an Englishman. Gooch and Botham came close, but no cigar.

Curly Ambrose? He was shaven headed (and called Curtly)
