Big day for a fellow Hatter today (or was, he's probably asleep now!), he's seeing his surgeon today, hopefully for the last time. So fingers crossed he can finally start getting himself back on the road to a full recovery. Good luck, mate, let us know how it went.

Thanks gazza,
Well I was early to bed last night as I had a 5:30 start to get the youngest to hospital for an ear operation (the fourth one this year for the downy household). I've got nothing but admiration for the Aussie health service. Then back to see the surgeon before going straight back to pick her up.
All looking good, had the stitches out, healed up nicely, no need to see him again, signed off work until the middle of next month. Should be getting back to normal in 3 months. Advised to swim, cycle, row and walk on soft sand. Done the first one today, will be doing the second one shortly and the last one on Christmas Day! I'm sure I'll have a row with the missus during Christmas!

Thanks guys.
Young 'un's op went well. She's very tired and trying to sleep it off.
Last Friday before Christmas as well, that's always my work's p*ss up. First one I've missed in over 20 years!

Good to hear Downey. Now to strengthen those legs muscles to help with the driving off the tees.

Good man Downy - keep relaxing by the pool - just put a beer at each end of the pool and swim between them and swig for refreshment always helps!

is it muscle wastage you're doing the low impact stuff for downy? good to hear you're progressing anyway.

I think so although the muscle wastage doesn't seem too bad.
I've lost a fair bit of movement in my ankle so I've got to get that back by doing some stretches. Then I can work on the strength in January.
I think the physio was shocked when she measured my movement because it was so bad. Then she compared it to my 'good' ankle and realised that it wasn't that far behind!

i suppose that's what a long amateur career will do to you... nothing's dropped off yet though from what you've told us, so you might have a bit more in the tank!

I can safely say my playing days are over. Which is a shame really as I'd only just started using my left foot. So it could be described as "hardly used, one not so careful owner".
Anyway, like bblw says, I am now the proud owner of a set of golf clubs. Let the frustration begin.
