Radio Macc:
Blatant Oxford handball, but, typically, ref is the only person not to spot it - so, no penalty.

Radio Macc:
Half-time, and still just the single, early goal in it. We are playing well enough, but the lead is slender... and, well, it IS County! A penalty should definitely have been given for the handball, so let us hope that doesn't prove to be a costly refereeing error. Oh, and, for the second Saturday running, we can play 'Count the Away Fans'. Oxford have brought precisely double the number (14) that Brackley did!

What a crucial win, and hopefully it'll lift Alan's spirits too, as the situation has clearly affected him deeply as it has all of us. Well done, lads, now let's follow it up with a few more eh?! I'm sure everyone reading this thread will join me in thanking Maccy for all his efforts in bringing us the updates this year, and indeed to Fudgie and MHH too. Sterling work!

first time at edgeley in a bit for me. managed to miss my train, so didn't get into stocky until 2.58. because i like to sp**k money around in the festive season, i took the ridiculous 'taxi' option to miss as little as possible. told him 'edgeley park', and 'hardcastle road' for good measure. so the driver sails on down mercian way before i cotton on and he thought somehow i'd said 'torkington street'. given that i'd also added 'to watch those jokers' after my instructions, i thought he'd have understood.
so then. nice early goal. as i was informed when i took my seat *shaking fist in direction of taxis*. sadly i'll just have to imagine it until pouchy posts the highlights. seemed to be pretty dismal for the rest of the first half. their player was close to the cross for the (clear) handball but had his arms down by his sides. a little bit later the ref gave a handball in midfield and gestured to show their player had his arm up, so maybe that was why he didn't give the pen - arm not in an 'unnatural' position?
they should have scored at the start of the second half as we were opened up, but it progressed fairly dully after that. marvellous marvin clipped the bar for them when put through, but had already been flagged offside. jevons missed a decent chance to settle the nerves when he blazed over from a moke pull-back and earlier dicko had one decent header. i was right in line with howard's shot for the second, fizzing and curling low just inside the far post, it was a great hit. we had a couple of chances after that as well. the three points were deserved, but it was nerve-jangling at 1-0.
due to some signal failure, my train back to leeds was held at piccadilly for forty minutes, getting steadily more packed. when they finally got moving with some detour via salford circle and victoria, there were 14 people including me standing in the little bit between the doors. i had a big winter coat on and was overheating and starting to feel quite claustrophobic and more than a little bit travis bickle. i also hadn't had a wee since about 12.30 so a two hour (originally one hour) standing train journey was not what i needed. back in the wild west yorkshire, in the taxi queue at the station, a taxi driver was having a shouting and pushing match with a passenger, rather than graciously getting the f*** on with his business so that i could get home. the quality of the game, the cold second half wind, and the quality of transport options reminded me exactly why i've missed a few. feels really weird to have three consecutive unused tickets in my s/t book though.
