Oh, the tension of it all! At least when listening to County commentaries on Pure over the last few years the agony only lasts for a couple of hours - today was like the prolonged waiting for your first child to be born (yes, THAT one), waiting for A level results, Uni finals and the judging of the Eurovision Song Contest all rolled into one.
Anyway, well done Maccy-team-mates and "hasta la proxima vez" as they say in this neck of the woods.

I think my A level Grade 5 Geography pass (1972) probably came in handy.

I think my A level Grade 5 Geography pass (1972) probably came in handy. One higher than me, Lennie. (And I became a travel agent!) Still wouldn't have sent anyone from London to Brum via Rotherham though!

Still wouldn't have sent anyone from London to Brum via Rotherham though! He missed them out on the way south from Gateshead as well !!! Sons, what can you do ? You spend all your money on giving them a gud edukashun and they can't read a map.

Cheers sandy, excellent quiz. Sorry captain Archie and Lennie. Your sins are forgiven, my son. Not everyone has the same time as us retired old gits to chase Sandy around the British Isles.

Wow! And Yay! Been out all day with Mrs Macc, celebrating our wedding anniversary - so it was the icing on the cake to read about the result on our return home . Well done, Gazza, for calmly slotting home the winning penalty - and thanks to all five of my Macc-nificent team-mates for their contributions over the last six weeks. It was a privilege to be your Skipper. Commiserations to our Arch-rivals, but very well played (especially Lennie). And cheers, Sandy, for devising the road-show and keeping us guessing until the very end. It really has been a lot of fun, and played in the best of spirits. Hopefully, we can arrange a re-match sometime in 2015!

Brilliant win, guys, as I said we were up against a very very good Team Archie, so that makes it even more impressive.
Lennie,I salute you, that lines tally is seriously brilliant.
Thanks to Sandy for coming up with this, I really enjoyed it.
