Here it is - the moment all (some) of you have been waiting for!
Firstly, let's start by revealing the link shall we? In Week 1, we travelled from Sandbach to Gateshead, giving us postcode NE. Then in Week 2 we went to Millwall (SE) followed by Reading (RG) in Week 3. Week 4 saw us taking another short trip to Hayes & Yeading (UB) before a twist at the start of Week 5 (when many of you seemed to be keen to go to Bristol - BS) had us ending up in Rotherham (S) before a final shlep to Aston Villa last week to complete the postcodes with B.
All of which (NE SE RG UB B S) can be re-arranged to give us.... Ben Burgess!
Now then, as I announced last week (and as you could have worked out) there are a grand total of 55 bonus points to dish out, so Maccy's slender lead (having come from behind - steady - in the final week) may all count for nothing.
First up, and the recipient of the full 10 bonus points for his team is.....
Lennie! Congratulations Lennie (and more accolades to come for you later....) for gaining a valuable head start for his team in the grand final.
That makes it:
Team Archie 133 v 128 Team Maccy.
Stay tuned for the next reveal shortly...

Next up, and earning 9 bonus points for his team, was.....
Sir Roger! Which takes Team Maccy back into the lead:
Team Archie 133 v 137 Team Maccy

So, who got 8 points then? Someone from Team Archie to put them back in front, or someone from Team Maccy to extend their lead?
Well, it was one of the captains this time....
Well done Maccy!
Team Archie 133 v 145 Team Maccy
Still plenty to play for though...

Time for the 7 points to be allocated...
Well played... Eppy! That's another big step towards the title for Team Maccy:
Team Archie 133 v 152 Team Maccy
By my calculation, that's a 19 point lead for Team Maccy, with 21 bonus points still left to play for. The next recipient could be critical....

The wheels have fallen off the Archiemobile !!!
This is making the last part of The Hobbit feel like a 2 minute commercial break.

Bloody hell where did that come from?! I know it's not over yet but really well played, teammates. You've seriously done us proud there to get us to where we are after being behind from week one against a very, very strong Team Archie!

Right then, the score is currently Team Archie 133 v 152 Team Maccy.
If Calliope, Downy or Gazza were next to get the link, they will score 6 bonus points for Team Maccy, making the deficit 25 points with just 15 left to play for and will give them the title.
If Archie, Bradders, Dudders, Market Harborough or Shrops were next in line, Team Archie live to fight another day and reduce the gap to 13 points.
Next up was.....

Gazza!
That's it. It's all over. I won't reveal the names of the recipients of the remaining bonus points, suffice to say 8 of them went to Team Archie and 7 to Team Maccy, making the final scores:
Team Archie
Team Maccy
Congratulations to Team Maccy, who fell behind early on but never gave up and, thanks to those all important bonus points, ran away with the title in the end.
Hopefully you all enjoyed something a little different with this quiz, as I certainly found it a refreshing change - enough for there to be another Team Challenge next year!
That's it for 2014. Thanks to everyone for taking part not only in this quiz, but for humouring me throughout the year. Quiz 69 will start on Monday 5th January.... and it's going to be murder!
Have a great Christmas everyone and, from Quizland.... Happy New Year!
Love ya x

P.S.
As a slight addendum, I did mention there was another accolade for Lennie, which was Highest Individual Scorer with a very impressive total of 37 (from a possible 40 over the 6 weeks - including the bonus points). Astonishing performance but sadly not enough to snatch victory for his team.
Runner-up was Sir Rog with 31, followed by Eppy in bronze with 30.

A very lucky hit on day 2 with Ben Burgess, and having 2 sons who live in postcodes for Gateshead and Reading also helped.
BB is now teaching in Blackpool, after an injury caused a change of direction in his fortunes, and making a good job of it.
Cheers, Sandy, excellent quiz with some quirky twists and catches. Can't wait for the next one.

Sorry we couldn't give you better backing, Lennie, but a great solo effort. Well done Team Macca. We'll just have to whup you in the second leg. Thanks to Sandy for all the hard work on this and all the other quizzes through the year.

Well done everyone who took part, especially to Maccy's team who strolled away at the end. But biggest thanks are to Sandy who has as usual been a bright spark and kept us all entertained all year - many many thanks Sandy!!

Excellent stuff, Sandy. A lot of hard work and clever clues to keep us all guessing to the end.
Amazing performance, Len! Very pleased with the Bronze.
Well played Team Macc. Woo hoo!
