The standard in darts just gets better by each tournament. Can't wait for the next and later rounds in this one.

Anyone in particular caught your eye so far this year, Rog? Also, aside from Phil, who else do you think might be in with a shout of taking the title?
Lewis for me, I just think he's getting his mojo back of late.

top half of draw is Phil's for the taking. Bottom half is tough with Van Gurning, Wade, Lewis and Barney in the mix. Sir Phil for me in a Lewis Classic Final.

Stunning display of guts with that last dart from Anderson to hold

What a great match, Anderson played very well there, he looks a decent thrower this lad, because Lloydy is no mug.

I hope you're right, Rog, that would be a stunning final if that Grand Sam semi is anything to go by!

I watched a little bit this morning on Sky Sports, it was a replay I think, 2 Belgian brothers played each other, I don't remember who won but one was like 20 years older than the other, quite strange!
Are there many 'darting' families?

Tony and Steve West (BDO)
Bobby George's son Ritchie plays in the BDO also, but Bobby has retired into the commentary box now, good character is Bobby, and his lad looks a chip off the old block.

Thank the Lord that Jackpot beat Smith. I had dreadful visions of Smith v Pipe at some later stage in the tournament.

Lord, no! That was excruciating to watch. You could see Lewis in the background doing everything he could to fill up the waiting time with something to do. I can't really rip into Smith though, because my favourite ever player was a slow player too, Dennis 'The Menace' Priestley, although not quite as slow as Smith was last night. Pipe is very slow, but I suppose I can kind of let that slide with him because he had a very nasty car accident when he was younger that left his throwing arm paralysed for months. Besides which, he's a brilliant player when he's on his game.
James Wade tonight, big tournament for him this. He's had so much to deal with regarding his personal issues, so I really hope he can progress.

James Wade is in trouble here, he really needs to get his finger out now.

So then, Round 2 is about to begin.
Some cracking games ahead over the next few days, with Sir Phil taking centre stage tonight.
