They will be great nights, there's no doubt about that, but I won't be at any of them, not at the prices they'll be going for.
Then there's the ballots involved in buying the tickets. I hate queuing up for anything, but to enter a ballot for the right to queue to rinse a day's pay to watch 90 minutes of music surrounded by tw##s with mobile phones? f*** off.
Touts will have a field day, gigs will be riddled with people who have never bought an Oasis album in their lives and just want to 'be there', and human nature will once again leave its greasy, avaricious paws over an event that should be enjoyed by every one of those people that want to, but won't be able to.
I'll keep my money and recreate the experience in my own living room. I'll just buy a couple of the classic albums they'll no doubt reissue on the back of this, then get my girlfriend to sit next to me while I play them, waving her phone in front of my face, elbowing me in the ribs and pretending to sing along to the songs she's probably never even heard before!

My daughter was excited when she heard about Oasis reforming for live shows. We're a big live music family, both big (Foos, Blur, Pulp, Elbow, James) and small a indie venues. However, seeing the tickets at £148 (£135 + fees) each for Manchester, we have concluded it's not good value for money. £600 is ridiculous.

In what seems such a short time, I've gone from "about f***ing time" to "just take your shitshow and f*** off". What an absolute p*** take, and those two can't wash their hands of it, they have to take some responsibility.

We're glad to be out of it. The in demand tickets are a disgrace. One of my daughters friends spent 6 hours in the queue, expecting to pay seventy something quid for tickets in Cardiff. He eventually got through and only available were standing in demand tickets - instead of £150 were £350. He could stretch to 2 x 150, but 350 was out of the question, so he just abandoned it. It's shocking and it's Oasis and their management who decide to turn on in demand.

While this was going on and thousands of his fans were spending their Saturdays in queues to be ripped off, p**sed off or kicked off, Noel Gallagher was sat in the stands at West Ham enjoying another victory for the frauds. I bet those players don't have to queue up for tickets, as he'll have been handing them out like confetti after the game. The Gallaghers have dropped like a stone in my opinion of them, as they've taken the absolute p**s with this and they know it.

I've never held them in high regard, and they've gone even lower. Pure money making.
I'm not convinced it will be a good gig anyway. As they are driven by money, they've done the photoshoot and probably won't speak again until a week before the first event. Can't see them rehearsing together a lot before then. I bet the support bands are better.

Word(s) of the day: Rabbit hole. Part of me wishes I never got started on this, particularly my wallet! Ghost Town was The Specials' magnum opus, and I'm currently trying to collect different versions of the iconic 12" version from around the world, and here's a near mint copy of the USA version that is still in shrink-wrap, which I bought from a seller in Sweden: Notable differences with this copy are the label which is mainly white, plus the fact that this one plays at 33⅓ Rpm. It looks and sounds superb. I'm now just waiting on a USA promo copy with the customary 'Not for sale' wording on the sleeve and label. There are others I'm still after, but I'm waiting for the right copies.

Here it is, thankfully with no trace of drugs (see 'Irrational Dislikes' thread)! The USA version of the 'Specials' album by The Specials. Those who know will notice that the cover artwork is the reverse of the UK version, albeit with a few more checkers! It still retains the original shrinkwrap, with a bit missing on the bottom right of the front cover which has been taped down by some absolute tool for some strange reason. I won't try to remove it, as it could damage the cover. Underneath the shrinkwrap the sleeve is in great condition, with the vinyl pretty much flawless and sounding superb. The track listing is different too, with 'Gangsters' included, albeit at the expense of the extended part of 'Too Much Too Young', which is a shame as I love that, but it's these differences that make these versions so collectable. There are a few other overseas versions I have on my list, particularly the Japanese Promo of 'More Specials', but that may take some time to find the right copy, as the ones I've found so far have the Japanese Obi strip either damaged or missing. In the meantime, I'm just pleased to have finally received this!

National album day, 19th October 24.
Two that are already on my list and now pre-ordered are The Specials' first album 'Specials' on clear vinyl & 'Jollification' by The Lightning Seeds on blue vinyl.
I've also managed to secure original Japanese copies of both of The Specials' albums 'Specials' & 'More Specials', complete with Obi strips and Japanese lyric inserts - the latter from the USA and the former from Japan.
I'm seriously pleased to have found decent copies of both!
