FC Koln are actually my German team! I've seen them play three times and saw a World Cup game at their ground!

crapola. after having to look what my team was called again, i see they've been beaten at home despite having twice as many shots as the opposition.

Bah! Just my luck that Hannover's bubble bursts this week. I thought having the Queen's home team, us Hanovarians were bound to win!
Viel Gluck Leonhard!

Saturday 27th September
Schalke 04 (Bradninch) 2-1 Borussia Dortmund (gts) - gts eliminated Freiburg (Gazza) 0-0 Bayer Leverkusen (Macc Jnr) - Tie Break VfB Stuttgart (BBLW) 1-0 Hannover 96 (Epworth) - Epworth eliminated FC Koln (Market Harborough) 0-2 Bayern Munich (county fan) - Market Harborough eliminated Paderborn (Another Ruined Saturday) 1-2 Borussia Monchengladbach (Hatter in Macc) - Another Ruined Saturday eliminated Wolfsburg (Big Fudge) 2-1 Werder Bremen (Archie) - Archie eliminated
Sunday 28th September
Augsburg (Downy) 1-0 Hertha Berlin (ceefer) - ceefer eliminated Hamburger SV (Shropshire) 1-2 Eintracht Frankfurt (Mrs Macc) - Shropshire eliminated
So, we have to say goodbye (and thanks for playing) to gts, Eppy, Market Harborough, ARS, Archie, ceefer and Shropshire.
Two more will follow them after the tie-break decider, which is:
What will be the attendance at Crewe v Notts County tomorrow evening?
Could Sir Roger, Gazza and Macc Jnr (via his old man) please let me have their guesses by midday tomorrow. I will PM my guess to Epworth shortly, so there can be no suggestion of cheating on my part.
I'll then announce who has been eliminated and who has gone through, together with the next round of fixtures, on Wednesday morning.
Cheers
Sandy

Well done Stuttgart, commiserations to Eppy. Thought I'd lost 96-1 when I first looked at the score !

Morning all
The attendance at Crewe v Notts County last night was 3,495.
The first tie-break, between myself and Sir Roger, was won by...... me! My prediction of 3,535 was just 40 away, compared to Rog's of 3,626 (131 away). Hard luck Rog, and thanks for playing. (Eppy can vouch for my prediction if necessary - but you should trust a lawyer, right?!)
The second tie-break, between Gazza and Macc Jnr, was won by.... Macc Jnr (who was 411 under, compared to Gazza's 557 over). Again, thanks to Gazza for playing, and congrats to little Maccy who carries on in the competition.
Week 2's fixtures will follow shortly.

The second round of fixtures are as follows (please note, I have not included any fixtures where both teams have already been eliminated):
Friday 3rd October
Hertha Berlin (eliminated) v VfB Stuttgart (BBLW)
Saturday 4th October
Bayern Munich (countyfan) v Hannover 96 (eliminated) Bayer Leverkusen (Macc Jnr) v Paderborn (eliminated) Hoffenheim (eliminated) v Schalke 04 (Bradninch) Eintracht Frankfurt (Mrs Macc) v FC Koln (eliminated)
Sunday 5th October
Wolfsburg (Big Fudge) v Augsburg (Down Under) Borussia Monchengladbach (Hatter in Macc) v Mainz 05 (Sandbach)
Remember, if you are playing a team that has been eliminated, you only need a draw to see you safely through to the next round, but lose and you're out.
Interestingly, that means there are no all-Heavener ties until Sunday, when both matches are - the first between Fudgie and Downy, the second between Maccy and myself. Each of those could go to another tie-break if they end in a draw.
Also interestingly, despite losing half of our 18 players, the entire Macc family is still going strong (in comparison to The Italian Job when they all went out - including Mother Macc - in the first round of fixtures!). Could we be looking at an All-Macc Final?!

Go, Family Macc! And looking forward to our showdown - 'The Main-z Event' - on Sunday, Herr Sandbrecht.
