there's a big article on salford city, so some of them are mentioned in passing; but nothing too painful.
there were only six hundred-odd in attendance last saturday, and i think phil said on binbag's podcast that county were getting a thousand; so you should be alright.

Echo Burning is a great read, gazza. It's the only one I've read so far (lent by a mate). Sounds like the rest are as good, so I may have to go back to the first one. Once I've got through all the other books I haven't read yet...

Bought a load of 1960s motorcycle magazines , some great articles, letters in a style iof English long gone, great adverts from a bygone era. Went down to the local auction house looking for some furniture for the new gaff....came back with a complete set of historical steam railway mags from 1987 to 2002 for a fiver. Maybe that's why I find myself living on my own again lol

Currently reading 'The Martian', having got it for Christmas, and it's excellent. Just noticed a_r_s recommended it earlier in the year and I can vouch for how good it is. Looking forward to seeing the film once I'm done to see how it compares.

Never compare a book to the film, the film will always disappoint.

True. Maybe 'compare' wasn't the right word. I'm interested to see how they adapt the book if that makes more sense?

Never compare a book to the film, the film will always disappoint. Agreed. No CGI expert, green screen special effects guru, legendary Director or Oscar winning Thespian can ever, and I mean EVER match the imagination of a person reading a novel. The books are better than the movie. Case in point: Jack Reacher. Nuff said.
