I can always rely on you for technical advice Gazz. Not that I was thinking of buying one anyway! Not until the tech is fully tested on idiots with more money than sense and then comes down to an affordable level

I can always rely on you for technical advice Gazz. Not that I was thinking of buying one anyway! Not until the tech is fully tested on idiots with more money than sense and then comes down to an affordable level I just remember the problems with the first 'slider' phones, Duds. I remember the early Samsung ones where the ribbons just broke and had to be sent back for repair. I can only see serious wear and tear problems with this particular phone. It's not just that, though. The idea itself is great, but in this case I think the application is very, very poor. The price itself is extortionate too, especially when you consider that it is far from perfected technology - I'd even go as far as saying that it's technically a Beta phone, in that it looks like it's a work in progress rather than the finished product. If people really are that desperate for a phone/tablet combination that fits in the pocket, they're better off getting a Galaxy Note for now - it'll be far less clumsy in the pocket for a start and cost half the price! For 'early adopters' read 'Beta testers with far too much disposable income for their own good'!

they're obviously desperate to be first to market - they've just nipped in ahead of the huawei one.

ouch! laughable. won the battle, lost the war? I do think they've been panicked into rushing this out with Huawei working on their own version, and I can see the latter being delayed while they make sure their product doesn't suffer the same embarrassing first reviews. I'm still not sure that it's something that I'll want myself, but I've changed my mind in the past, so I'm open to changing it again.

Total madness releasing a product without proper testing....smacks of desperation

Total madness releasing a product without proper testing....smacks of desperation Totally agree. From the close-up shots of the hinges and the edges of the screen that I've seen, it looks rough and unfinished, like a prototype - it just looks a bit scruffy to me.
