Cheers mate. I haven't had a problem since my last rant on here but if it happens again I know what to try. Fingers crossed it's resolved itself, many ip conflicts often do. I had loads of problems when I set up a static IP for my PC (some P2P torrent sites demand it), I eventually traced the problem back to the static IP I'd assigned and just changed it to a higher number, problem solved.

I've got version 4.1.2
Never had a problem with the original version but this one clashes with my wi-fi now and then (see dislikes thread).

Ok guess you could call this a rational dislike but its kinda new 'technology'
Microsoft Window 8
This is the biggest load of sh**ecinhave ever come across and Inam used to apps using an iPhone. It's Gates attempt to being laptops into the app age. Sorry Bill but you should have listened to your market research before releasing it...
But oh yes you did just that. Only that when it was released there was a massive backlash against it. And you paid for that market research lol.
So we got windows 8.1 . Great but there again not great because to get to any commands or most programmes you have to right click the windows start icon on the desktop.
If your mouse pointer goes to far to the right you get a massive black and white icon bar appearing and big date and time box ...over what you are trying to read .. Gee thanks Mr Gates....
All in all if you need some new kit try and get windows 7 not 8 or 8.1

All in all if you need some new kit try and get windows 7 not 8 or 8.1 Currently using Windows 7 myself, and I've had no problems whatsoever. I was a stubborn XP Pro user until April this year, but I'm glad I finally took the plunge. Regarding 8.1, my son uses it and doesn't seem to have many complaints so far. That said, he only really uses it for gaming. However, he has had many issues regarding screen resolution, and sometimes he's been unable to play games at the maximum setting available due to the game's compatibility issues with 8.1. With yet another Windows on the way (9) it looks like we're in for another windows vista/windows 7 scenario, and I think that's just wrong. I bought XP Pro back in 2003 and used the same copy for over ten years on three different custom built machines and had zero problems, so why so many new versions of Windows in recent years? Probably because they know that to the average user there is no alternative, so they can fill their boots whenever they feel like it. The number of people who stuck with XP for so long suggests to me that, although change can be good, it's not always wanted, but when have Microsoft ever been interested in the end user? I'll be sticking with 7 for as long as I can, if it ain't broke, I don't fix it.

Cheers for the link, gazza. The reviews on Google look ok but then it's a Google product so that's not surprising. At least the handset is also Google so there should be a reasonable sync.
