Happy with that so long as he puts in a full shift & doesn't slow down the counter attacks. The side needs a mix of youth and experience.

Agreed, ceefer. Milligan, for me, has the potential to make a positive impact - provided that he has a decent midfield around him.
Lordy will know him well enough, too - and about the influence he has on other players. Hopefully, the decision to hand him the armband is one that pays off...

Still not sold on his ability but I'm happy to give him a chance. Could be a great captain given his experience

In the two games at the end of last season that I saw Milligan was the main/only outlet from defence and he seemed to be the organiser in terms of directing the younger players. I think it's a good choice if his legs hold out. Hopefully Benjamin will hit the ground running literally.

I'm going to have to reserve judgement on this one, I'm afraid. As the guy with the most experience I suppose he was the obvious (only?) choice.
However, I didn't have him down as a first team regular based on what I saw last season. He was quite slow and was always looking for the 'hollywood' pass, which never came off. I was hoping for more dynamism in midfield.
Having said that he has stuck with us and Al clearly rates and I hope he has a blinder of a season.

I too thought him quite slow, but I was impressed with his ability to put good passes through. We need a creative midfield.

I'm happy enough with Milligan re-signing and I guess he is the only option for captain. We were desperate for a creative midfielder last year. We had about 6 central midfielders who were, more or less, much of a muchness. It has been said before that Jacobs (the right back) was the most creative player!. I think Milligan joined too late last season to make an impression and came into an average team for the division (*sigh*) which is always difficult. I know that at this level midfielders have no time on the ball but if he has a ball winning partner in the middle of the park hopefully he can be allowed to play the ball around and open up the opposition's defence.
