Today we must remember all of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the allied forces from Britain and across the world on 6th of June 1944.
We must never forget the sacrifice they made for Great Britain and the world

We should never, ever forget.
My Grandad's ship, HMS Offa, while not directly involved with the landings, was on interception patrol in the western approaches to the English Channel on June 6th 1944 with a number of other ships. Their mission was to deny access by German surface craft or submarines during the Normandy landings. His ship came under air attack along with HMS Onslow, fortunately both ships escaped damage that day. Otherwise I may not have been here posting this.
Chilling thought.
Heroes, the bloody lot of them.

A day that bonded Britain, Canada, USA, Norway, Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand and Poland.
Brave men the lot of them and of course we can't be too callous to the German troops. A lot of the were sent off to die for a cause they didn't believe in and were frankly disgusted by. They weren't just Nazi robots.
