Who is going? I'll be there on Saturday at about noon, sporting a Planet Rock sponsored Birmingham Beer & Cider Festival black t-shirt. Also planning on doing a pub or two...

Why doesn't the club advertise the festival on COWS?

I will be going on Saturday too. Have been following updates on twitter about the festival. Looking forward to it. As a Camra member, I was hoping to volunteer this year but it didn't go to plan. At least I can go as a pundit!

If you fancy saying hello, Sirius, see my description above. I am also a CAMRA member, being Birmingham Branch's Membership Secretary, Press officer and a Mild Officer.

Because I sent Chris Jolley my above question about the dearth of publicity of the event on COWS.

Because I sent Chris Jolley my above question about the dearth of publicity of the event on COWS. I'm sure archie will have noticed the date on the article before posting the link, collinge, I don't think he was being condescending... I too find it strange that the club hadn't advertised the event until you had got in contact. Whether County are making any money from this or not, it's making non-County people aware of the place, and if just one extra person goes to that festival and wonders what the football is like and decides to go to a game next season, it's been beneficial to the club. Promoting 'County' awareness isn't just about asking people why don't they come to a game, it's about making them want to. There are probably a good number of Stopfordian people who know they have a club in their town, but haven't even seen Edgeley Park, let alone been. So it could be that while the good people at the festival are supping their traditional beers and chatting away, they might just notice the traditional look and charm of the place and want to come to a game. Maybe I'm just clutching at straws here, I don't know, but it beats doing nothing at all. I hope a good festival is enjoyed by all who attend anyway, mate.

Gazza's right, collinge. Just a heads up that they had corrected their omission. Enjoy.

Just got back. Good Fest, and good pubs. Went to The Hope for the first time. Impressed.
