Brilliant report, mate. I have to say that, although I haven't seen him play, Ben Spibey looks a hefty lad from those photos, I wouldn't like to be the centre half picking him up! A solid result, well done to the lads.
Cheers as always, mate!

Yep Gazza..... Ben is a handful for opposing defences , and vastly under rated. he leads a line well, holding the ball up and laying it off like a pro, and his general skill levels are well above average.A good lad !

Sounds like the kind of forward we need in this division , Hedge. What are the chances of him continuing with the youth team next season? Do the current youth team and Lordy's plans for a development squad align, hopefully giving some of these lads another opportunity to progress?

To be honest Gazz, the Clubs involvement with the Youth Team has been minimal this season as far as I can see, and I am not sure whether the Youth Team set up as it is( run via the College) fits into the manager`s plans. Personally I cannot see how we can afford to ignore what is a POSSIBLE, avenue of new talent, even if we are committed elsewhere ( Myerscough & others)- the team does actually bear County`s name and should in those circumstances not be ignored. County have taken two players during the season for training ( Murphy and Nolan) which is good, but to my knowledge no others. At the very least they should keep a watching brief on games played by the team, but if they have during this season, they have kept a subterranean profile whilst doing so!

Well, if they aren't taking much interest then they should, especially after the way they have performed. This, in my opinion, is a great way of tapping into local talent. The club would be crazy not to embrace it, it's hard enough getting kids to want to watch County, let alone play for us.
The problem of course has been the lack of money at the club, and every spare penny will have had to be used wisely. So I can understand why there may have been little involvement from the club regarding the youth team this season, but one can only hope that Lordy will have at least been keeping an eye on it, albeit a distant one.
These kids sound like they've played with real pride throughout this campaign, and while wearing County colours too, they deserve some recognition and reward for their efforts in my opinion.

Totally agree, a great all round performance from the youth team.
They are fourth in the division now after a 2-2 draw with Farsley who are now 3rd by 2 points but County have a game in hand.
The last game is away against the league leaders Gateshead so will be another testing match.

Rob Clare has been promoting Stockport FC as the only place available for young talent in the area to be noted where this is clearly not the case with Stockport County youth team doing so well.
However, I feel it is a shame and missed opportunity by the clubto not be more involved with the youth team. Perhaps the share holders should be investing in the youth team than more concerned about starting a new football team in the area?

Hopefully the new development team will provide a bridge to the first team
