So, that's another season done and, as is customary, it's time to run the monthly figures through the abacus.
Like all the other games on here, this is meant as a diversion and it's absolutely fine for people to miss a week or month when the real world gets in the way. Naturally, this hits the accumulated score for the season but I'll let someone else calculate the average points per weeks played.
So, to start at the beginning...
August
Maccy started the season off in a hurry and pipped Bradders to the first monthly crown.
13 Maccy 12 Bradders 11 Irish 11 Lennie 11 Mini-Herm
September
Mini-Herm (15) was top of the pops, one ahead of MHH and two more than Irish. He also took the overall lead.
26 Mini-Herm 24 Irish 23 Bradders 23 Lennie 23 Maccy
October
Following a poor start, Archie (15) finally hit his straps, two ahead of a 5-way tie between Bradders, Ceefer, Hermann, Lennie and Mini-Herm, the last named slightly increasing his overall lead.
39 Mini-Herm 36 Bradders 36 Lennie 35 Maccy
To be continued...

Moving on.
November
A first monthly prize of the season for Gazz (14), four ahead of his closest pursuer, Maccy. Mini-Herm retained the overall lead.
48 Mini-Herm 45 Lennie 45 Maccy 43 Bradders
December
Our first dead heat of the season with Ceefer (18) just edging Lennie on the tie-break. Lennie and Bradders scoot past Mini-Herm overall but still tight at the halfway stage.
63 Lennie 60 Bradders 58 Ceefer 58 Mini-Herm 57 Maccy 56 Gazz 55 MHH 52 Archie 48 Dudders 46 Eppy 43 Hermann 25 Irish 17 Countyfan

Second half.
January
Archie (18) took this month three ahead of Eppy. Lennie maintained his three point lead overall but Ceefer moved up to second.
75 Lennie 72 Ceefer 71 Bradders 71 Maccy
February
A second monthly win for Gazz (13), just a single point ahead of Bradders and Hermann. Lennie's overall lead cut to two.
85 Lennie 83 Bradders 82 Maccy 81 Archie 81 Gazz
March
Eppy (13) tucks away a monthly win, a point ahead of Mini-Herm and two more than Lennie. Lennie opening up overall as we enter the home straight.
98 Lennie 93 Archie 93 Mini-Herm 92 Bradders 92 Maccy

April
Bradders (21), a point ahead of Eppy and two in front of Archie, moves within a point of Lennie overall. Will the pressure tell?
114 Lennie 113 Bradders 112 Archie 110 Mini-Herm
May
So, all down to the final month and MHH (12) takes May a point ahead of Lennie. The pair being the only players to get in to double figures. Final scores:
125 Lennie 120 Bradders & Archie 119 Mini-Herm 114 Maccy 112 Eppy 107 Ceefer 106 MHH 103 Gazz 93 Hermann 90 Dudders 38 Countyfan 25 Irish
Other stats: Archie and Gazz both had two monthly victories. One each for Bradders, Ceefer, Eppy, Mini-Herm, Maccy and MHH. No 7 out of 7 scores this season but creditable 6s for Eppy (Aug W4), Archie (Jan W4) and Eppy (Mar W1).
So, congratulations to our 2022/23 champion, Lennie, who was a clear winner overall without triumphing in any single month. Well played Mister Consistency.
Thanks to everyone for turning out week after week and, in particular, to Maccy for finding the most difficult to predict matches. I hope to see you all next season.

Great totting, Archie - and many congratulations to Sir Len. Top-four finishes for both organisers, though, I see. Oops... Thank you to all for playing the game this season. We go again in August!

Just to add, for those who entered it, that results from the separate Big, Big Prediction Game will follow - but only after a week tomorrow (10th), when the Champions League concludes.

Impressive work Lennie to win the season but no individual month. Truly consistent.

That's some fantastic work, Archie, many thanks for putting all that together, mate! Commiserations to yourself and Bradders on a superb joint-second place, but many congrats to Lennie with a truly epic win, I'll sort a trophy when I can muster the energy to go upstairs and start the PC up again, it's absolutely cracking the flags here in Scousepool and I've got the fan on warp 9 trying to keep cool!

Fantastic win, len. Well played, sir.
Huge thanks to macc for picking some devilish fixtures and to archie for tracking all the scores - a lot of work that is very much appreciated.

Well knock me down with a feather !!!!!!!
I can obviously dig into the sub-conscious mind of Macca and his devious choices (and stick the pin in the right place !).
It pays not to over-think these things and go with a gut-instinct (for that read panic choices).
Well done to Macca and Archie, thanks for a great set of games and I shall wear my badge of honour with pride.
Time to get out the "Gloating Cream".
