Hello all,
New member, new-ish County supporter. Used to live in Edgeley next to the ground and now in Heaton Chapel so still walking distance (on a good day), so have followed County to a certain degree for a few years. Only time I've been in the ground was for a beer festival so looking forward to my first game.
More importantly it will be eldest son's first ever game of football. He's 7 and football mad so next step is a proper game.
Which leads me to my first question - is there a 'family' stand as such that's best for kids? Noticed a season ticket for his age is only £50, what a bargain.
Cheers PJ

Cheers PJ Hello pj and son, A very warm welcome to County Heaven and to County in general! What is called the 'Pop Side' by County supporters is now officially the Together Family Stand. You have a side-on view of the pitch (goals are to your right and left). People sit in the Main Stand (aka Danny Bergara Stand - the iconic brick facade one on Hardcastle Road which gives a side-on view) and the Cheadle End (the biggest stand, behind goal view) with their kids as well. I wouldn't view anything as particularly favourable over another because it'll depend on what you want and 'bad language' is going to be largely a self-monitored affair wherever you are. If your son would want an autograph book from the shop and to have players sign it then you're best in the Main Stand for access to players as they'll sign when coming out for their warm up (the tunnel is in that stand). If your son would like to get right down behind a goal, it would have to be the Cheadle End. If you get along to the Fleetwood friendly which is a 'family day' then hopefully you'll get an idea of the ground from a 'watching a game' perspective, even if parts of it are not being used on the day. If you've not been to games before, you might also want to ask the Club if away fans are likely to be seated in the Pop Side. I've sat in there with my son for a season when he was your son's age and the away support were a block away from us, separated by a piece of netting and a steward... never any issue but I can imagine it might be off-putting expecting a 'Family Stand' and getting some of the more excitable travelling support within earshot, especially with some 'rivals' in this league as compared to when playing in the league below. £50 up to 17 is an excellent season ticket price. I hope you both enjoy supporting County and if you have any questions just ask the Club or on here and we'll try to help.

Nicely done, H, that's as comprehensive a response as you can get!
Welcome aboard, PJ, it's great to have you here and to have you supporting the club. Hopefully we'll finally get out of this league and back where we belong this coming season!
Thanks for joining up, mate!

Welcome PJ - we are a friendly lot on here.
Read the back posts and library we have to get a real flavour.
Plenty of fun time prediction games to join in with as well.
Health warning to your son - Iwas 7 when I started to watch County on a regular basis. Still here 60 years later !

Thanks all for the responses and hat tip to Herman for the comprehensive reply on the stands I have my first ticket ready, the evening game v Grimsby, lower tier in the Cheadle end - can’t resist a night game under floodlights I’ll reply to the game thread once I’ve been and report on my debut attendance Another QQ: can I get a Bovril?? Cheers PJ

They definitely sold Bovril last season so hopefully they are this season.
Enjoy the game.

Can't be a night game without a Beefy Bovril, and any club not doing so should be punished to the full extent of the law, with the owner(s) sent to work in a salt mine!
