Torquay turned up at EP in 1991/92 with the wrong shirts, they ended up having to wear our red Gordon Ford away kit from the previous promotion season, Matt Elliott scored for them in our shirt if I remember correctly. I remember saying to a mate as the teams came out that "at least a team in county colours will be guaranteed at least a point tonight." I was right, and we won 2-1!

Yes, indeed - thanks, Sagey.
In addition to the published tale, I remember our having to wear Shrewsbury's white change-strip on a Friday night at Gay Meadow in the early '90s, as both of County's shirts at the time would have clashed with the hosts' blue and yellow ensemble.
We won, courtesy of a Wardy strike, too. Shrewsbury wouldn't let us keep the 'lucky' kit, mind - other than for washing...

And, of course, thanks to the M62 closure - not to mention Richard Landon's travelling separately from the squad - a fortnight ago, we almost ended up with no kit at all in Guiseley...!

I wouldn't be surprised if there has been a 'shirts v skins' match in this division at some point in time.
