Our last scheduled match under the Edgeley lights for a few weeks - hopefully to be celebrated with a first-ever win against Tuesday's Lancashire visitors on home turf!
You know what to do...

County will be looking for some payback from last seasons cup exit in the semi's plus the shenanigans during the game from their players, some of our fans didn't cover themselves in glory as well.
I can see there being a bit of an edge to the game and plenty of goals. County will just have enough in them to get three points in a close game.

I don't usually go in for singling individuals out for special treatment, but the first thing on the agenda for Jim's pre-match team talk should be to give Ash full licence to kick huge f***ing lumps out of the Fylde owner while he's on his way up to the directors box!

Fat boy Rowe has handed a transfer request in Apparently!! If some rumours are to be believed! Can he push Through a move before the window closes so he doesn't have to face the mighty County!!
Fylde will be on the wrong end of A County rout with Confidence sky high. Three nil to the boys in blue.

There were some tired performances on Saturday with a couple of players performing somewhere below the levels they've recently set. Expecting players to perform to consistently high standards for a 9th game in 32 days is ridiculous and yet another example of the appetite that the game's authorities seem to have for completely devaluing the product.
As I recall it, this was a decision taken a couple of years ago after some clubs had multiple postponements due to the quality of their pitches with Bradford PA and Spennymoor Town suffering disproportionately. What we're left with is a situation where well run clubs like County who don't spend what they haven't got, or at least if they do they take a calculated risk as the board did last season to borrow the finance to support the team knowing that success would result in bigger crowds which repaid the loan, are being penalised.
Spennymoor, whose owner clearly thought that his wallet was fat enough to allow a glorified pub team to defy gravity and play at a level way above that supported by crowds of around 800/900 are able, in theory at least, to get as many games in at the start of the season when pitches should be drier thereby taking the pressure off the end of the season by having to rearrange fewer postponed fixtures thereby increasing their chances of further promotion.
There comes a point where the sheer physical effort required to get to our current league position can't be sustained any longer. For me that is likely to be tonight which is a pity because as Fylde amply demonstrate, one of the other features of some with lots of cash is that it doesn't matter how much you've got, it can't buy you a bit of class.
Hoping I'm wrong because on Saturday we're at Chorley, an eminently winnable game because their players will be in the same physical condition as ours whilst respective league positions don't lie about the difference in quality but I'm going for 0-2 tonight. Right, I'll put my bucket of cold water down.

Great post, nye. I hope you’re wrong about tonight, too! I've been up since 3 mate prepping for something at work today (I really wish I could learn to leave work at work lol) so was in a mildly philosophical mood. It doesn't seem to matter how many times it ends in tears, the football authorities seem to lack the will and/or ability to address the problems that huge ego's perched atop fat wallets are causing within the game. These kinds of problems don't happen in Germany because the game is administered differently so quite why the authorities remain so useless remains a mystery.

I hope today has gone well, nye. I’ll not complain about being up at 5.30 prepping for a meeting!
You are so right about the authorities. Not helped by the efl board being dominated by several club directors and just one independent non exec. It’s easy to blame a nameless board, but the clubs need to take responsibility.
One of the things they also need to do is replace the ‘fit and proper person’ test as it is neither fit nor proper.

Oh look, it's Fylde in the league... expect over-physical challenges and a game plan centred on winning FKs for Rowe. Their 2 wins this season involved Rowe converting penalties...
With the leagues above finalising their squads, the likelihood of adding players already identified for improving our squad options is perhaps now higher. If the likes of Curran are best served by going out on loan with the bigger picture of development across his contract in mind, it kinda kills 2 birds with 1 stone.
Because of the away win at Wrexham, it somewhat feels like a free chance tonight. An away draw and home draw against 2 promotion chasers would seem just fine... we're already 1 point ahead!
Good luck, JG and the boys - stop Rowe shooting and no FKs!

Which begs the question why we don't have a bigger squad to allow for some rotation to cover injuries and exhaustion.
Hoping the team can compete again tonight but the number of games played on such a short time is ridiculous.
C’mon the 12th man.

The thought occurs that this is at least one season too soon to be contemplating promotion, that the emphasis might be on making the adjustment from part time to nearly full time this season before kicking on next season. I thought Curran had a steady game on Saturday although he'd run out of steam by the end but it seems unlikely he'll be going anywhere until some of these injuries clear up.

Nail biting finish yet again. A good three points and a very winnable game on Saturday.
Perhaps the pressure will be off the players as midweeks seem to disappear this month.
Brilliant that we are in 5th position and looking to kick on. A couple of teams around us dropped points tonight.
