County are playing Buxton this Saturday at the same time Belgium are playing England. The choice is yours...
Any thoughts?

Well, I shall be there. But remember - Hyde, rather than Buxton, is where it's at. So, set your sat-navs for the SK14 of Ewen Fields and not the SK17 of Silverlands!

Well, pretty much the whole of this afternoon's attendance at Ewen Fields was made up of travelling Hatters, who sensibly opted to enjoy a hat-trick of County friendly wins over a no-more meaningful World Cup kickabout for the minor places! Ceefs: have edited the thread-title so that, with England's game now played, it appears in the usual format.

I know they're doing something at the stadium down in Buxton but if the Buxton squad are travelling to Hyde anyway, it seems like we could have just played them at Edgeley Park...either way, another good win against a team I would expect to challenge in the upper half of the Evo-Stik next season.

I gather that Buxton wanted to practise on the 3G, Fudgie. The surface being laid there for next season is precisely the same type as that at Hyde.
Possible, too, I imagine, that County will not have wanted the EP turf over-used in pre-season - given that three home-friendlies are already scheduled.

However, the proof of this particular pudding (did you see what I did there? ) is in the eating - let's see what happens the next time they're faced with a six-fingered hand full of ha'pennies!

thank you for your correct usage gazz. "the proof is in the pudding" is one of the many tiny things that annoys me.

"the proof is in the pudding" is one of the many tiny things that annoys me. Mine too, mate. I'd also, if I may, like to add foul throws and "he was entitled to go down there" to that list!
