Rest was a bit processional sadly. Alonso drove the tyres of that motor.
Ocon was the highlight of the day, missing his start box, 5 second penalty, crew cocked that up and he had a further 10 seconds stoppage. Then, he broke the pit lane speed limits !!!!
A day to forget Esteban. Fine margins on all 3 counts but very costly.
On another note - how beautiful does that plum red Alfa-Romeo look ? Especially under the lights.

Agreed, Gaffer, there really are some fantastic looking cars on the grid. I think the Aston is also among the best of them.

Another fantastic third place for Alonso, then it wasn't, then it was - the ruling is an utter farce and needs updating! Thankfully, however, common sense prevailed and the Spaniard was finally given the third place he thoroughly deserved. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/65008849In other news, that Red Bull looks invincible at the moment and I honestly don't see anyone stopping them from bagging another Drivers & Constructor's double. I hope I'm wrong, though, because it's not a good spectacle when one team and/or driver totally dominates.

Qualifying at Monza, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc were under investigation for failing to follow the race director's instructions in Q1, for going too slowly on their preparation laps and failing to follow the race director's notes.
Then, as Sainz takes pole from Max with Leclerc third...
"No further action will be taken against Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc for failing to follow the race director's instructions in Q1."
🤣🤣🤣
What a f***ing cop-out!

30 years ago today since Imola and the passing of Ayrton Senna and Roland Ratzenberger.
Still hard to believe.

How did I miss these posts. Horrific weekend where we almost lost Rubens too, who was extremely lucky to survive an horrendous crash in Friday Qualifying. The story of Professor Sid Watkins pleading with his close friend Senna on that fateful Sunday, trying to persuade him to not race after the tragic loss of Ratzenberger is a haunting one... Watkins said to Senna: “In fact, why don’t you give it up altogether? What else do you need to do? You have been world champion three times, you are obviously the quickest driver. Give it up and let’s go fishing”. Senna’s reply, the last words he spoke to Watkins, was simple: “Sid, there are certain things over which we have no control. I cannot quit, I have to go on.”
