Have to say, Ceefs, that I'm with you on Jimmy Ball. He held things up well, helped out in defence, and his through-pass for the Dixon goal was sublime. He gets my vote, too. Cowan and Smalley both put in good defensive shifts, Stephenson is getting better with every recent game, and Turner's cameo suggests that there will be plenty of good things to come from him once more. Plenty of positives...  |

I thought Smalley played as well as any CB I've seen in this league so far this season - and against some very different types of attackers in Salford's side - so I'll go with him.
JG seemed confident early in the season that Ball would pick up Young Player of the Season when talking more about him becoming a #4. With Duxbury having done well overall and Cowan impressing as the season's gone on in a couple of positions, I wasn't really seeing Ball as a contender. In recent times, as part of a 3-man midfield with freedom to attack, he's looked really good to me. I hope we can see him more often in this way.

i'm going turner, just because i thought we were stifled up front, and he gave them something completely different to think about and helped us stretch the game. great to have that variety.
