Good morning everyone
Due to the overwhelming popularity of the last Team Treasure Hunt we did, we’re going to have another one!
Over the course of the next few weeks (again, I’m not telling you how many) I shall be going on my travels around Great Britain, visiting a number of different football grounds from England, Scotland and Wales. The grounds I’ll be visiting will be from the top 4 leagues in England and Wales (Premiership, Championship, Leagues One and Two), and from the top 4 leagues in Scotland (SPL, Scottish Championship, Scottish Leagues One and Two).
Rather than give you directions, I’m going to reveal a series of picture clues to where we’re going – the first clue being a compass to point you in the right direction, and the rest will be clues about the team you’re aiming for. We will again be starting from Sandbach Towers in Week 1, but in subsequent weeks we will be starting from the ground we finished at the week before. Please note, I will be using the nearest main compass point (N, NE, E, SE, etc...) so don’t have a go at me if I’m a few degrees out!
To avoid the situation where teams are waiting for some players who might not be able to get online as frequently, you will be playing on your own, but your points total will be for your team. This means there is no need for group PMs, and waiting for someone to make a decision, but it does mean I’m trusting you not to give your team mates the answer when you have got it right!
To save any awkwardness or embarrassment, I won’t be revealing everyone’s individual scores, only the team score at the end of each week.
Get the club right on Monday and your team gets 5 points, etc. etc.
As ever, there are bonus points up for grabs. When you re-arrange the postal codes (e.g. County would be ‘SK’) from all the clubs I have visited, you will be able to spell out a former County player. Could be first and second name, could be surname only, I’m not saying!
The first person to work out who the mystery player is, will collect 10 bonus points for his team, the next person 9 and so on.
As an added bonus, each week you can choose a number from 1 to 9. I have pre-selected three numbers for every week of the quiz, and if you choose one of those numbers you will receive an extra ‘Bergara point’ for your team (this is just an extra point, but it all helps!)
Lastly, please note that I won’t necessarily be heading to the grounds in a logical order (which I got some stick for last time) so don’t assume, if you’ve worked out the link player, that I’ll go to the ground that is geographically closest next!
As ever, answers via PM or e-mail to sandbachhatter@hotmail.co.uk.
Right, hopefully that all makes sense, but if not, send me a PM.
Ok, bags packed, off we go!
