Good afternoon!
The name’s Hatter... Sandbach Hatter. Most of you will no doubt be aware that it was recently the 50th anniversary of the first James Bond film, Dr No, and this paved the way for a lively discussion on County Heaven regarding all things Bond. Interestingly, apart from the general consensus being that Connery portrayed the secret agent best, we couldn’t agree on anything! Nearly half of the 22 films released to date featured as someone’s favourite, and the same was true for the debates on the best theme and best bond girl (one for the lads).
Remarkably, that very same day in 1962 also saw the arrival of another British institution in The Beatles, when they released Love Me Do as their debut single. Again, aside from it being recognised that Ringo wasn’t even the best drummer in the band, let alone Britain, we couldn’t seem to agree on the best Beatles song. Then again, there are plenty to choose from.
That’s the beauty of County Heaven though. We have members of all ages and from all walks of life so we often have differing opinions which provides for lively and thought-provoking debate. We do have one thing in common though, and that’s County!

Welcome to our visitors from Kidderminster, and also to all supporters who find themselves on the second leg of this year’s Non-League Day and Blue Square’s Cheshire ‘ground hop’. Hopefully, the footballing fare brought to your table this afternoon at Edgeley Park will be a tasty, gastronomic delight of a filling in between the slices of bread served at Macclesfield and Hyde, and leave you all relishing more visits to SK3!
Having finished just outside the play-off places last season, ‘Kiddy’ rather surprised everyone with a poor start to this term’s campaign, and have only very recently climbed out of the relegation zone. That said, they last tasted defeat back in August, so will no doubt be a tough nut to crack today.
As for County, it will be a case of wanting to bounce back very quickly after losing by the odd goal in five to Wrexham on Wednesday night, despite having deserved at least a share of the spoils. For atmosphere and entertainment-value, it was a belter of a match, and a televisual treat for any neutrals who might have been tuning in on the night. Let us hope for more of the same this afternoon...but this time accompanied by three points at 5:15!
Enjoy the game.
