Welcome everyone to the final of Quiz 75.
As we know, the final takes place this weekend, between 'Not Ep-worth The Money' (managed, unsurprisingly, by Eppy) and Archie's 'Sugar, Sugar'. The teams for the final will be as follows:
NOT EP-WORTH THE MONEY
HOWARD (EVE)
SAGNA (C) (MCI) DANN (CRY)
PAYET (WHU)
IGHALO (WAT)
-V-
VARDY (LEI)
SANCHEZ (ARS) DE BRUYNE (C) (MCI)
KOLOROV (MCI)
HOWARD (EVE)
SUGAR SUGAR
Prior to the final, 'Not Ep-worth The Money' have been dealt a severe blow, with the news that midfielder Payet will be out of action for some time (according to the Fantasy Football website, he could be out until February), so they are one man down. Equally, Sugar Sugar's main goal threat, Jamie Vardy, has a hip problem that gives him a 75% chance of playing, but will he manage a full 90 minutes? With both teams having the same goalkeeper, it could all come down to whichever Captain performs the best, and scores those precious bonus points for his team.
Good luck to both teams.

Although I bombed out in the first round, I think this is an absolutely fantastic game idea, and I'm really looking forward to seeing this format again in the future.
Excellent work, Sandy.
Good luck to both teams!

Thanks matey. I will be doing another one of these, but it will be into the new year now as the next quiz (which starts Monday incidentally!), will take us to Christmas, and I already have another treasure hunt lined up for January!

Best of luck, Eppy. Another comp where I've done better in my absence.
Thanks for the usual immaculate organisation, Sandy.

An update:
The following is only provisional, as Not Ep-worth The Money have one player left to play tomorrow night, but here are the current scores in the final:
Not Ep-worth The Money
Howard 7 Sagna (C) 0 Dann TBC Payet 0 Ighalo 5
Current Total - 12
Sugar Sugar
Howard 7 Kolorov 3 Sanchez 2 De Bruyne (C) 4 Vardy 7
Total - 23
Not Ep-worth The Money will require a monumental effort from Scott Dann, when his Palace side play Sunderland tomorrow evening, if they are to catch Sugar Sugar in the final. That said, stranger things have happened, and if Palace keep a clean sheet, with Dann perhaps picking up an assist or even a goal, and some bonus points, they could still do it. In fact, in his last match (against Liverpool away) Dann picked up 10 points, and he scored 14 against Villa earlier in the season, so don't rule out Not Ep-Worth The Money just yet!
I suspect, if Sunderland score tomorrow night, we might just be able to hear the faintest cheer all the way from North Wales!

Not only did Dann concede last night, he also got himself booked, giving him just the one point and his team no chance in the final.
So congratulations go to Sugar Sugar, ably managed by Archie, who take the title with a convincing 23-13 victory.
Commiserations to Epworth but Archie is a worthy winner, having amassed the highest playing fund throughout the quiz - it just goes to show money can buy titles!
Thanks everyone for playing - there will be another one of these (with a twist) early next year. In the meantime, get yourselves over to Quiz 76 if you haven't already!

Well done Archie, at least I took you to a replay in round 1.
Fully deserved title.
Bring on the next one.

So close to my maiden win, but not to be. As predicted, not worth the money! Well played, archie - a deserved win from the start. Cheers, sandy. Like everyone else, I really enjoyed the game and appreciate all your work in setting it up and keeping on top of the scores.

Cheers all. Obviously, being the moneybags was a big help but, in my defence I'd like it on record that I actually spent less than £40M on my side. However, playing this game for real (oddly enough, I scraped a late draw with Lennie there as well last weekend), I know what a good job those who had less than £30M to spend did to produce competitive teams. A fine performance by everyone. As said earlier, thanks for the immaculate organisation, Sandy. Challenging and enjoyable as always.
