Market Harborough is your host this week, and has proposed the following G-rievances for you to choose between:
Gazumping
The evil of all house buyers, you think you have found the perfect property, shaken hands on the deal and then the Estate Agent rings you to say that someone else has made a better offer. You are at the limit of your finances and unfortunately you have to back down and lose the sale!
The other side is where the Estate Agency rings you and says the seller has had a number of asking price offers and if you add £5K to your bid you will get it (gazumping yourself no less!!).
England, please take notice for once of the Scots - there all those who wish to bid on a house do so by a certain date and then the winner is selected!!
Grunting in Tennis
Tennis is a beautiful game that does not need loud grunts every time the ball is hit. They should lose a point every time they grunt. Enough said on that topic!
Greenwich Mean Time
Need to get rid of this – need to have British Summer Time and BST +1. We would be in line with all European businesses for commerce purposes but more importantly we would have later daylight in the evening when we all sit outside for BBQ’s and Chimeneas during the summer months.
Going dark in the evening is a horrid thing and therefore being able to have longer hours of daylight is really important to me!!
Over to you...

Has to be grunting for me, Watching the women play during Wimbledon can be a ear piercing affair!! Sometime's I think they are trying to outdo each other with grunting rather than concentrating on the game!!

Would have to be Greenwich Mean Time for me, I hate driving home whilst it's dark at 5 and dark in the morning coming to work.

Got to be Gazumping, no contest. Yep - with you all the way on that one, Gaz-man. Unscrupulous behaviour at its worst.

As someone who hasn't had to deal with estate agents or housing ever. So it can't be that for me.
So, grunting in tennis it is..

Very good one MHH!
I hate coming home when it's dark and miserable. I have never purchased/letted a house by myself but I imagine it to be an absolutely exhausting procedure...
However as a fan of most sports, I am somewhat of a traditionalist so will have to go for Grunting in Tennis! It isn't gentlemanly/ladylike conduct, it isn't neccessary and it's f**king annoying!

Close one, but grunting in tennis just edges it for me.

Have been gazumped a number of time and my 3 lads have all had the same done to them. No morals, no ethics. If everyone said "b*ll*cks and sod off" to the estate agents/solicitors it would soon change.
Tennis grunting - tends onlt to be the ladies who do this. Often the simultanious grunt is overplayed by either the early grunt or a delayed grunt all designed to give an opponent a wrong-footed timing to the shot. Can't watch lady tennis at the best of times. Grunting is not the best of times. Just hit the off switch.
Lighter evenings are better than lighter mornings as most children's road accidents happen when people are heading home tired at the end of the day.
Difficult choice but ........................................ gazumping barstewards for me.

gazumping is sh*tty behaviour, but it's a f***ing great word! i've only had one experience of house-buying and fortunately the only property i was interested enough to make an offer on i got. must be horrendous though - in order to be sure enough to make an offer, you've already made an emotional commitment to the property you're going for, imagined how it will work for you as your home.
don't watch much women's tennis. annoying, but i don't watch much.
GMT is a genius pick, MHH. sitting here, it already long dark at not even twenty past seven is b*ll*cks, so the idea of dark at half four in a couple of months is oppressive. it's crap getting up in the pitch black as well, but i'd definitely go for the extended evening out of the two. would much prefer us to get all european with it. GMT is my pick.

I've bought and sold houses a number of times in the last 20 years and never had a gazumping incident. If anything, gazundering by buyers ('the survey says...', 'the mortgage company says...') has been more of a problem. It's all a game and would probably work better if you were committed at an earlier stage.
GMT is difficult because no-one likes darkness at 5pm. On the other hand, I really couldn't do with it being light after 10pm in the summer so the solution of BST and BST+1 just doesn't work for me.
So, almost by default, I'm going for the tennis grunting even though there's supposed to be a scientific justification for it.

Gazumping is indeed one of the best words and as I have never suffered from it it seems unfair to banish it.
So for me it's between the other two...
GMT is of course Greenwich Mean Time. The way by which we remind the rest of the world that it is in fact Britain that sets the time for the rest of the world to follow.
Grunting in tennis is interesting one, we all know that when you are trying to move something heavy or difficult that a big heave is always accompanied by a visceral grunt. So they might argue that they have to do this to put in that final ounce of effort.
I hate in the winter arriving at work in the dark and leaving long after daylight has gone but I don't feel that changing the times would rectify that issue. Victoria Azarenka is the world's worst but she shrieks rather than grunts. I don't mind Andy Murray and Djokovic grunt towards the end of big games and points, to me it shows they care.
So changing GMT won't fix anything for me as I need to move to the Arctic Cirlde as I fancy 24 hours of daylight.
So I think for me it has to be the grunting/shrieking in tennis.
