I have spent the last 6 months or so at County living what has probably been the best experience of my life. I really feel that it's worth thanking the people who have made it such an enjoyable experience so my plan is to, every day or two, talk about a certain member of the team who has made it so enjoyable and first up is our very own media-mogul Hatter_in_Macc:
Gareth
Gareth is the first real friend I made after joining that I hadn't already met before my appointment and I'd probably say that the word 'friend' is used incorrectly here. Gareth has been a phenomenal mentor over the last six months and has always been there to help. The first meeting with Gareth was not actually in the media team. For three whole years before starting my work, I had sat in the seat that was literally in front of him in the Pop Side, but amazingly we had never spoken. Before knowing him personally, me and my dad always called him 'Poynton Guy', this was because that's where we thought he was from and - despite not being too far off - I do now know he's from Macc, which I should! I also remember Macc Jr kicking the back of my dads chair every game in the Pop Side resulting in us having to swap seats a few times but it never really bothered me. So, when I met Gareth in the Press Box, I recognised him instantly. Anyway, enough rambling. Since we've been working together, I've always enjoyed his input. He's got a vast knowledge of football and, in particular, County which made him a fitting candidate to do commentary with. After the first attempt, we made it a regular thing (or at least I did) but he was always willing to take part and help. He was the one who got me on here in the first place and, having taken a look around, I signed up. Without him, I'd have never had taken part on here or met all of you wonderful people or walked to Hyde. I has been an honour to know Gareth and I have no problems with calling him one of my true friends, despite me being as young as I am. Thanks Gareth for what has been a pleasure this season...
