On to game two of the tour, then - and, tomorrow, Friday night will be Rolvsoy night! Kick-off time at the Stockport Sports Village (Woodley) is 8pm. Hopefully, our friends from Norway won't be too worn out by the walking football sesh in the morning...

Well, the walking football this morning has gone the way of the Blackpool Senior Seasiders... just!
Score at full-time: 7-7. The wily old Seasiders then shaded it 3-2 in the penalty shoot-out.
Tremendously enjoyable event, played in the best possible spirit. Our Norwegian friends appeared to take a while to grasp the concept of walking while playing, but, once they did, they kept us on our toes!
At one stage, the Seasiders were fielding four Heaveners: Sir Len (Captain supreme - made a number of cat-like saves, including from the spot); Fudgie (made no mistake with his penalty), Jarkko (scored with a well-drilled low drive); and me (headed an assist at one end, and made a last-ditch clearance off the line at the other)!
Photos to follow...

Thanks Macca and Fudge for helping out "The Old Gits".
It's a tougher game than it looks and very competitive isn't it.

Tonight's result from the Sports Village:
Stockport Town 4, Rolvsoy 1.
A fast-paced match on the artificial surface saw Rolvsoy concede an early goal (another well-struck shot from distance, to go with the two from the previous evening), before settling into the game as the first half progressed - and, at just one down after the first 45 minutes, leaving themselves with every chance of securing the inaugural 'Stockport International Challenge Trophy'.
Unfortunately, a second was conceded within minutes of the re-start - followed by two more. Rolvsoy then scored a consolation, missed a sitter and should have had a penalty - so we could so easily have finished up with a very much closer scoreline.
Fudgie gave the mother of all motivational speeches to the team in the changing room beforehand, and I interviewed Jarkko for Norwegian televisual consumption after the game.
Nor-way either of us was expecting to do so... Arf.
