The board of the Supporters Co-operative note that the recently released Project Initiation Document, published by a group of Stockport County supporters, uses the name of Stockport County Supporters Co-operative extensively and prominently, throughout.
At no point prior to publication of this document were the contents made known to ,or discussed with the board. Indeed, board members only received copies of same after the item appeared on message boards and elsewhere. Neither has the matter been raised at members meetings at any stage.
Some of the statements ,apparently issued by the above mentioned group, have been, to say the least, misleading, particularly in respect of whether a request had been formally sent to the Supporters Cooperative for a meeting to discuss the groups proposals .
The Supporters Cooperative has an established tradition of always granting time to individuals or groups wishing to make a case or speak to the board at board meetings.
Prior to today, no such request had been received, however at 11.08 a request was received, by email.
No further statement will be issued on this matter until the board have had adequate opportunity to discuss and consider all aspects of same.
