A fitting thriller of a game, for what was a good turn-out by County Heaveners, this afternoon...
Good to catch up in The Crown beforehand with Bradninch (and congratulations again on the golden anniversary!), Cap'n Beefheart, Fudgie, Sandy, Shrops and Siriuses senior and Junior - and sorry to have missed Eppers, Lennie and Market Harborough.
If you've calmed yourselves by now, here, for your further pleasure, is our article from today's (sold-out) programme - printed, incidentally, before news was known of Dicko's move from 'Vegas to Guiseley.
Happy reading!

Good afternoon, and welcome to the visiting fans from the only other SCFC with whom we need concern ourselves at present (fixtures against Stoke and Swansea being at least a few seasons off)!
CHHQ has been doing a lot of celebrating recently, and I don’t just mean following the victories against Leamington and Alsager. Firstly, Dpc and Offerton (1st February) and Binbag (2nd ) all recently ‘enjoyed’ turning one year older. Second, our good friend Bradninch will be making the long trip from Devon today, to commemorate fifty years since his first visit to Fortress Edgeley. Let’s hope the boys make the trip worthwhile!
Somewhat younger is CH itself. We turned four last month and, like my own 4-year-old, we’re growing at an alarming rate (even faster than Fudgie’s beard, if you’ve seen it). It won’t be long before we welcome our 100th member on the ‘new’ site, but our membership is still outweighed by guests visiting the forum – we had over 150 in just one day recently.
Don’t just visit – join in! Now is the perfect time: my new quiz will be starting on Monday; Lennie will have another Limerick for us all; the latest European Competition will be kicking-off soon (it’s Portugal next); and there’s still time to take part in Downy’s Prediction League for February.
County Heaven is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Isn’t that right, Maccy?!

That’s the naked truth alright, Sandy. I can hardly bare to contemplate any alternative forms of enjoyment!
And moving swiftly on… to what is County’s second successive Conference North match – following our contest at Boston – that features fellow former members of the Football League. (It would have been the third, had frost not put paid to Barrow’s visit to Edgeley Park on Tuesday night!) Stalybridge will no doubt be feeling fresh, having not played in a fortnight – after SK15 was covered in a couple of inches of snow last weekend – although an impressive home-win and a battling away-draw by the Hatters on the last two Saturdays will surely have boosted confidence in and around SK3!
And just as our most recent opponents included an ex-Hatter (namely, Carl Piergianni – for Boston), so will today’s visitors include three among their ranks in Lewis King, Paul Ennis and Liam Dickinson.
Matty Mainwaring will not, of course, be returning with Celtic to his old stomping ground, after taking the recent decision to swap his football boots for boxing gloves. Rumour has it, mind, that he does remain available for knockout games…!
Get behind the team today. The support of our ‘Twelfth Man’ makes all the difference.
