As some of you may have noticed, the forum has seen the addition of some banner ads during the last 24 hours, but please do no worry, they will be removed when myself and the rest of the Admin team have agreed on a plan for paid hosting. We were fully aware that this would happen, and were prepared for this eventuality. So rest assured that they will not be a permanent fixture here.
Please do not worry, this is not a plea for help or donations, no member is under any obligation whatsoever to help out with this issue. However, please feel free to help if you wish to.
We hope that you will continue to enjoy the new forum.

Update:
Ads have now been removed, but as he's the person who opened the ProBoards account for this new forum, only Fudgie has permission to disable the small ads on the 'Related Topics' footer that you see at the bottom of each thread. As soon as he gets on I am sure he will be able to sort that. After that we should be completely free of all forms of advertising on this site.
We hope that this hasn't affected your experience of the new forum.

i hope this won't interfere with my enjoyment of 'how to achieve mindfulness in 10 minutes a day' gazz. i was also genuinely surprised by '7 surprising causes of back pain'.
if you can set out the structure gents, i'm sure there's some of us who would like to chip in and share the burden. thanks.

Lol. I'm afraid they're going to have to go too! I can't disable those, only Fudgie can, so we'll have to wait until he gets on. I'll send you the link when I've had the chance to speak to Fudgie over how we're going to sort this out. I've made sure we stay ad-free until the end of January anyway, I just need Fudgie to do what he needs to do then we can sort out how we're going to do this. As I said though, there is absolutely no obligation to donate, and we will not be handing out the begging bowl at any time over this. So please do not think we're mentioning this to drum up funds, it's completely voluntary. Those who don't want to don't, and those who want to do, and nobody will be thought any more/less of either way. It's as simple as that. Cheers for the offer, mate, I'll let you know how to do it a bit later this evening if that's ok.  |

Just a quick heads up for everyone. With it being New Year's Eve, and with Fudgie being the account holder of this new site and thus having the only key to the inner, inner sanctum, we may see the return of ads for a few hours in the morning. The reason for this is that no matter how many ad-free page views you put into the forum account, you have to manually activate so many each month, and Fudgie may well be too piddly to do anything for a while on 1st January! So if this happens, please bear with us, you will only have to suffer them until the Fudgeman sobers up!  |

Nice one, matey. You'll have to check what time zone the server runs on though, because if you activate the next month of page views too early they will expire at midnight and we'll lose a whole month.

I think we will get a notification that you need to apply more paid page views before any ads return, so I think you will be OK until lunchtime. I can't access that feature matey, you are the only one with that privilege because you founded the proboards account you see.

Just a quick post to let all our registered members know that the ads always come back on at midnight on the last day of the month, so we just have to wait for fudgie to apply more of the donated page views to disable them again.
