I grew up watching the Rockford Files, one of the best 70s US tv shows ever.
Sad news.

The original Maverick was one of my favourite shows of the time. He was also a very good Philip Marlowe.

For many years my voicemail message has been a pastiche of the one played at the start of The Rockford Files. Used to watch it every week. RIP Jim Rockford/James Garner.

Just watched Grand Prix. Probably one of the best and most accurate sports movies ever.
James Garnder could act with just his eyebrows.
RIP

Genuine screen presence and charisma, a rarity these days.
