Elon Musk - absolute tw##.
I don't have a Twitter account and refuse to sign up, so now I am no longer allowed to view the SCFC Twitter account, it seems.
I can read Sam Byrne's Tweets, but not the replies, so he's clearly trying to force people to join.
Shove it up your arse, Musk.

Over here we are not able to use/download the new Threads app from Zuckerberg so until then I have no option but to use Twitter. The ‘for you’ option is where he adds all his cronies’ nutcase opinion pieces and makes an interesting diversion every now and then

The ICC & the ECB.
I'd like to know why they can't look to extending a match an extra day in cases of bad weather, especially when an entire series is at stake.
To anyone that says they have a gap between tests and that is needed for resting, they know we have sh*t weather in this country, so surely they could plan accordingly and add an extra day's rest between matches that could be used if needed?
It's ancient, stuffed shirt regulations such as this sticking to 5 days that makes the whole thing a complete nonsense.
For clarity, I find it embarrassing whenever England are saved a pummelling by the rain. It needs looking at.

The scheduling of a reserve day for each test is probably too much to fit in with all the white ball competitions but it's certainly worth investigating.
What they can easily do though is to ensure that 90 overs are bowled every day when the weather doesn't intervene. No point in fining for slow over rates but it would be a simple matter to make each session 30 overs with a drinks break after 15 overs. Lunch and tea would, quite literally be moveable feasts rather than at a fixed time.
30 overs were lost in the first 3 days at OT with both teams at fault.

The weather has just played into the hands of the ECB and their decision not to come back for the next few years.
Think we would have finished this one off at Southampton and perhaps even Swansea.

That's a fair point, mate, but I think there's far too much white ball cricket now and it's to the detriment of the test game. I don't like T20 and I don't like the Hundred, I agree that it's a spectacle and it's very popular, but it's not really the type of cricket I want to watch myself. I'm an egg and chips, Test match and ODI bloke.

The Sporting gods, yes I know they're not real, but...
Not content with f***ing us over with the weather at the Old Trafford Ashes test, then rubbing our f***ing noses in it on the Monday with a bone dry day, they've now turned their attentions to the Women's World Cup.
England's creative midfield fulcrum, Keira Walsh, is now likely out of the rest of the tournament with what looks like a nasty knee injury.
We have some fantastic players in that squad, but she's the most talented in my opinion.
I'm having an absolute turbo-powered tw## of a week, so there'll be plenty more F bombs where they came from.
f*** off, Sport.

So when you tax the banks more they make less profit, how sad. They still make a profit and the money is being used to subsidise public transportation across the whole country. Mis distance trains are free, yes free. You had to buy a fifteen euro ticket which when you used it for more than its face value (within six months!) got reimbursed. This was recently extended to the end of this year. Local bus travel is subsidised 50% by national and regional governments, 25 each, so my already cheap bus pass (84 cents a trip) is now only 42 cents a trip and any other trips within an hour count as the same journey! www.surinenglish.com/spain/windfall-tax-banks-blamed-for-fall-unicaja-20230728172251-nt.html

Politicians in this country can't, yer know, run the country for the benefit of the electorate because they have either worked for commercial banks/financial industry before entering politics or hanker after a lucrative non - executive directorship once they've inflicted enough damage on this country and retired from politics. The list is a fairly lengthy on but for starters it includes current or past cabinet ministers: - Rishi Sunak Sajid Javid George Osborne William Hague Greg Hands Andrew Lansley Francis Maude Philip Hammond Etc, etc, etc In most walks of life it would be recognised for what it is, corruption. Unfortunately, in this country the press, who one might like to think should hold these charlatans to account appear to be more interested in Nigel Farage's banking arrangements.

Alex Scott's punditry on the BBC's coverage of the women's world cup.
Her clichéd analyses are becoming irritating, she's trying way too hard and it's difficult to listen to.
Turn it in, mate.

Amazon yet again hacking their prices up. "Dear Prime Member, As we invest to improve our Same-Day delivery service we are writing to let you know about an update to the Same-Day delivery options available for Prime members in eligible postcodes. The majority of Prime members currently receive most of their Prime orders with One-Day delivery, while free Same-Day delivery can be manually selected for eligible orders. From 18 September 2023: Your Prime Same-Day or Overnight (Tomorrow by 1 PM) orders over £20 will automatically be delivered to you using the fastest available option, at no extra cost. This means that where available, you will get eligible orders delivered for free on the same day or by 1PM the following day, depending on when you place your order. Eligible Prime orders under £20 will continue to be shipped with free One-Day delivery. Where available, Same-Day delivery can be selected at checkout, but there will be a fee of £1.99 per delivery for orders under £20. The fee for customers who are not Prime members will remain £5.99. For more information about Prime delivery, please click here. You can manage or cancel your membership at any time by visiting your account. We hope you continue to enjoy your many shopping and entertainment Prime benefits, including Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Gaming, Prime Reading and more. Thank you for being a Prime member. Your Amazon Prime Team" They've just admitted what I already knew. Where same day delivery was available on items I'd bought in the past, it was never automatically selected at checkout, I had to manually select it. They did this deliberately in the hope that the majority were sucked in by the same day option but didn't spot it, then unwittingly ordered one day delivery instead. They're actually making it automatic for orders over £20 which it should have been in the first place, and are now charging us for the f***ing privilege if we're just a pound under. There's a hub in the centre of almost every town now, so you can easily walk to pick your parcels up - they can f*** right off. Cheeky b******s. We should all chip in to send the likes of Bezos, Branson & Musk into space via one hour delivery, and send their helmets and oxygen next working day.

Agreed, Gazz. Amazon's check-out process has become incredibly sly, and designed to catch out the many buyers who are either in a hurry or too weary to select manually.

I’m quite proud that after four years here, Mr Bezos’ corporation still think I live in the U.K. Wherever possible I buy locally in my neighbourhood, keeping the money in the pockets of my neighbours quite literally as several of the local shops are owned by families in my block of flats. Eff the globalisation system!

Eff the globalisation system! The problem in this country is that it is very difficult to buy locally in the way that you mean. Having lived and worked north and south until I baled out last March, I can say without fear of contradiction that every town centre is virtually the same as the next. It has exactly the same shops, selling exactly the same stuff as its neighbour. It was one of the (many) things I found amusing about the Brexit "debate" such as it was. Listening to people arguing for a reduction in globalisation and the "elites" it has created whilst at the same time fuelling the system they allegedly despised by buying from the likes of Amazon, cheap mass-produced clothes churned out by sweated labour in Bangladesh, or electronic devices made cheaply in Japan from mass produced components churned out by Taiwan and all transported around the world by globally owned corporations dodging taxes at every opportunity. Nothing could have been more hypocritical than the sound of the then Tory leader May pontificating about the same global elites that the political classes have been enabling and enriching for years. I confess, I haven't used Amazon for many years and have found the aching void that has left surprisingly easy to fill. If Amazon is the only source for something I might want, I do without.

Fully agree with the uniformity of almost every single town in England. One of the things that I really like about here is that most of the shops and restaurants have the owners working in them. They care about their customers in a way that has long disappeared from England. I have said England twice as I can’t speak with confidence about the other nations of the U.K.
