3-1 win for the Canucks against Predators Fudge, what was the game like? Are Nashville any good?

3-1 win for the Canucks against Predators Fudge, what was the game like? Are Nashville any good? Seemed to be doing their best to put the Canucks keeper in hospital for Christmas, but Canucks totally deserved the win from what a casual green horn spectator like me could make out.

Canucks on top for most of the game, defence kept their heads and the forwards were linking up really well, Preds are a decent side usually in or around the playoffs, finish the road trip with 3 wins and a loss which is very good! Have you seen the goals matey

Have you seen the goals matey I'm just settling down with a brew and on the laptop now to watch the goals from last night. Will post when I've seen them.

What did you make of our first goal for a bit of luck matey! Decent effort but lovely deflection!

I thought the third goal was a tad scrappy too, but they all count, it just seemed to just amble over the line to me. Good solid performance though from what I could see with my severely limited understanding of the sport, in spite of some very dirty play from the Predators.

Definitely mate, in previous years we'd have been sucked into their dirty play but last night we kept our cool very well and didn't join in their antics

I've been watching them all from the day before and I'm getting to see quite a few games. It's not the whole match granted but still gives a good idea. Coyote's up next, any predictions? I think NHL deserves a thread of it's own in this section, what do you reckon?

Yeah make one mate I'll keep it going myself, we've not been brilliant at home this season, let's hope we can turn it round, Phoenix are a good team though

Ah, NHL 94 on the Sega Mega Drive, that brings back memories. If I remember rightly the 92 and 93 versions had fighting and blood.
I didn't really get all the French Canadian pronunciations at first: Vincent Damp-House, Patrick Roy (of the Rovers), so it was a bit embarrassing when I actually heard the names - who is Damfoose? And who is Ron Barr?
I'm more of an NFL fan myself (Green Bay Packers). Madden 93 was a great game. NBA Jam was also a hoot ('...from downtown')
Those were the days, my friend. We thought they's never end.

Most definitely, epworth, those early to mid-90s NHL/Madden games were superb! I have to admit to cutting my Mega Drive NFL teeth with 'Joe Montana Sportstalk Football', with its 'side on' view. It was a pretty poor game compared to Madden, but the running commentary was good. Then I took a chance on the Madden games and it was no contest. I still don't understand the rules that well, but boy was it playable!

Patrick Roy has the weirdest name going!
Patrick Wahh as it's pronounced!

Chris Chelios was always my favourite player - both in the NHL game and in on the real ice. He was nails.
